Great Tool for New Tesla Owners Wanting Speedometer
Coming off of 45 years of driving vehicles with normal speedometer/tachometer in front of the steering wheel I found it hard to adjust to the minimalist Tesla center display to determine my speed. This little gadget preserves that very clean Tesla dash while giving you your speed without having to shift your eyes to the right/center. Added plus that it also shows current gear, turn signals, and percentage of charge remaining but those details are ancillary to the driving experience which I could live without in this display if it were not offered. There are a number of reviews citing issues with percentage charge remaining but mines displays that information correctly along with real time speed data (since it pulls information directly off of the OBII data). I’m really satisfied with it’s performance and definitely the price of the unit.Installation took around 30 mins without removal of any dash components. With my Model Y, I ran the cable along the rocker panel side of the drivers seat instead of the center console. With the approach I had to remove one of the front seat rail bolts to get the cable underneath but you could also run it behind the seat underneath your carpeting as well without having that additional step. It just wouldn’t look as clean of an installation.

This gadget looks good here in Amazon… It seems like a good idea.. and it installed easily.I rarely look at it.Yes, it is true, I don’t have it dead center because I prefer unobstructed airflow from the vent so I have it a bit to the left.If someone really has an issue with seeing the speed on the screen, then yes, this works perfectly. I however am considering removing it as I’m split on if it’s worth the missing airflow.

For the price, you wont find a more useful OBD gadget. But it does block some HVAC airflow.
I like the simplicity of the unit. I do not need all the additional information that others provide, I can get that from the middle screen. However, it’s nice to have speed and turn signals in your line of sight.I first installed this where it is meant to be installed, I liked the look, but quickly realized that even though this is very small, it blocked quite a bit of HVAC air.I then moved where the windshield meets the dash, and was very pleased with it there. Cosmetically, it’s not that bad there either. This may or may not work for everyone since the level of your steering wheel could block that area.

Is 101% charge level able to be reset?
Seems like others have had a similar issue – is there a way to reset the charge level so it conveys the actual percent of battery remaining rather than a constant 101%? Other than that, the unit has been fine, but this is a very annoying glitch in the unit.

Perfect mini HUD for tesla model 3 and y. Works perfectly without any intrusion and keeping the clean aesthetic of the tesla minimal dash. Been using it over a month and no issues. Highly recommended. Will buy again
