    Amazing product. Genius idea!
These things are awesome. Bought since my car doesn’t have the roof rails or any sort of rack which I need for a ladder for work.Bough these with low expectation. 50 bucks and an idea.Install and build was pretty easy.Once all was cinched down I threw my ladder up there and haven’t worried since. I have pulled them off a few times and inspected for any damaged caused. None so far.Be careful if your roof isn’t super thin. If you cinch the ratchets down too much you will dent your roof. If only once for a quick second you should be okay.Wind noise is as expected. Look is pretty dope. Changes the look and helps it stand out.The whole thing is super light so add anything on top and you’re good. I have about a 50 pound extension ladder on it and it’s had no issues at all.If you position it perfectly it’s super stable and you get get anything perfectly level on top. I suggest making small marks with a sharpie for where your feet should line up on the inside of your door frame.

    Basic, functional roof racks.
These are good enough for hauling heavy oak slabs on the roof of a Honda Accord. They’re plenty strong for lumber hauling. Don’t leave them on your car when it rains. The nylon straps impede the door seals and they will leak. That’s not a flaw. It’s just something that’s inherent and unavoidable with this sort of design. Fortunately, they’re secured with ratchet straps so it’s quick and easy to remove and replace them whenever. The price is right and they’re absolutely good enough for my purposes.

Very functional, with one major flaw
Have used these racks a number of times in past two months. Easy to put onto roof and take off. An inexpensive alternative to thules, in a pinch. Haven’t hauled anything very heavy [some pallets], but racks seem sturdy enough. The major flaw is the rubber cap on the feet of the racks. They come off easily and yesterday I lost one. So far, I cannot locate replacement parts. If I am unable to, I recommend AGAINST buying these racks.Without the cap, the rack is useless.Or…immediately glue the caps onto the feet before first use.Until yesterday, though, I was really happy with them. Too bad.

You’re getting what you pay for, no issues
Fit my FRS (will fit BRZ/86) fine. The tension of the strap does create a gap between the window and the weatherstripping so if it rains water will leak into the car, and there is some whistling/wind noise while driving. Exceeded 60mph with no issues at all. Didn’t notice any bending and had no issues with assembly other than the metal used for the bolts is super soft and will strip when you try to tighten them. One had a crack in the head so I just swapped it with the spare. Only use it for distances around 30mins but it does the job! No complaints

    Incorrectly drilled holes from manufacturer
Even my low expectations of this inexpensive roof rack were not met. The uprights are molded plastic – which may be adequate for modest loads (no load rating appears on the product or literature), but disappoint nonetheless. A much bigger problem was that one of the two tubular steel crossbars, the three pairs of holes provided as mounting points for the roof uprights are NOT DRILLED IN THE SAME PLANE as their counterparts at the other end of the tube. So once assembled, the roof pads at the two ends of the steel tube are about 10 degrees different from one another with respect to the tube. So only one of the two pads can be flat on the roof, and the other will be only touching along one edge of the roof pad, and actually installing the system and tensioning the ratchet strap would twist the plastic roof mount or tear the plastic at the bolt flange holes, or dent the vehicle roof. There was no mechanism to contact the seller, only “self-help” instructions which could not possibly cover this problem. Without time to request a replacement (and no confidence that the replacement would be OK), I drilled a new hole in the correct orientation nearby the poorly-manufactured holes and made it work.

The best choice for bare hoods
Bought these because I had no other options, my suv is a bare hood. I used for two kayaks and put j hooks on the bars. Due to the cross bars being round the hooks wouldn’t tighten down fully and the hooks would move. Definitely easy to assemble. Decent fit as well. The feet could be made with a better plastic and the bottom could have a better rubber foot because water got under it and made it shift. I felt even with it moving some that it was secured in due to the straps. However, the straps that came with it were the ratchet kind and they didn’t work so I had to get the strap with the teeth lock. That worked perfectly.Overall, if you’re stuck with no rails like me, this product works in a pinch. I’d much rather have attached rails so I don’t have to unhook it every time I need to haul something.

These roof racks fit my Hyundai Sonata and Hyundai Elantra perfectly. Installation was easy, and they feel solid and well-made. I haven’t had the chance to drive with them yet, so I can’t say anything about wind noise, but they look like they’ll hold up well. So far, very happy with the purchase.

  8. Lawrence Moreau –

This unit would fit most autos. It is sturdy. The straps go through the but probably wouldn’t bother in most cars, unless you’re in a low car or a tall person. Warning, however, it is very noisy. I’m not sure if wind noise could be diminished?

  9. Tbain –

These roof racks are an issue. I followed other people’s advice and glued on the pads since apparently they have a tendency to fall off. The racks fit well and stayed in place, were easy to install and did stay on the car without slipping, and did carry our two kayaks no problem. There is a huge issue however that other people mentioned though. These racks are soooo noisy, giving off a high pitch whine, when going over 60kph. We tried everything, blocking the spare holes with duct tape, pulling the straps really tight, nothing worked. It appears the noise is coming from where the base touches the car, like air is getting under since tightening the straps reduced the noise slightly. Perhaps replacing the pads with something softer might work that will be snugger against the roof, I don’t know. If you’re just using these to move something around on city streets at low speed, these are fine. If you’re going camping or on a road trip where you’ll travel on a highway….these will drive you nuts!

Was secure enough to transport a 160lb septic tank on my roof, I drove across a long stretch of highway with high crosswinds and it didn’t budge.

    Tres surprenant , et solide.
