Great retrofit upgrade for older style audi.
Install wasn’t too hard, a bit difficult to hide it all in the cavity behind the system but doable. Install video cuts off at what seems to be the halfway mark but the included colour picture instruction manual is easy to follow. Setup once installed is easy, sound is slightly degraded but not to a major or really noticeable extent unless direct comparing after Install. Definitely worth the money provided the longevity holds up.

Great product!
Works perfectly, easy setup, the connectivity is great, turns it on instantly the moment you turn on the car, only downside is that Siri constantly turns on by itself and it doesn’t mute the music when you talk to her. Everything else flawless!

Works OK, horrible install instructions, glitchy, no support
Have had the unit for several months. Works sometimes, but often glitchy and if you have an issue you have to turn off your car to fully reboot so if you’re on the road and have issues it’s. pain. Installation wasn’t too bad, but instructions are awful and company-provided video was even worse. You think you’re watching some hack on Youtube, but that’s the company’s install video–can be really confusing and it’s inadequate. Worst part is if you have an issue support is non-existent. If you try to get support from the seller through the Amazon link, it’s just a continuous loop of suggestions with no way to contact the support line. Via the company website it’s only WhatsApp and they will always tell you to go the Amazon site. So this device is mid unless you have a problem because you’re stuck. I would try it out but if you have any issue return during the return window because they will not help you.

Purchased this after doing a ton of research on how to add CarPlay to my US-model 2014 Audi Q5 TDI. mine originally came with the MMI 3G so this is the unit that is compatible. Installation was easy (be sure to buy radio removal keys) but did take a few tries to get all of the new wiring and the control box to fit behind the factory CD player. Hint – there’s a gap above the AC controls that ultimately let me get it all to fit inside. Anyone who has ever installed a new head unit in a car should have no problems getting this installed. I routed the WiFi antenna and USB cord down into the passenger footwell area and am mainly using my phone connected via USB.The controls work perfectly! Even better than expected. If you’ve ever used a newer Audi or a Mazda with CarPlay it works just the same with the dial control. One tip: enable “use car Bluetooth for phone calls” in the settings for the CarPlay adapter and you won’t have any microphone issues making calls. Also, if you find navigation volume too low when listening to music, adjust the volume using the cars volume control WHILE Apple Maps are giving directions to adjust the volume for voice guidance.This makes my nearly 10 year Audi feel like I have all the features of a brand new one! Why did I wait so long to buy this?

Easy install, took around 20 mins. Works great on my 2013 B8.5 S4.Only problem is sometimes( I will say every 20 use will have 1 ‘black screen issue’) the system will black screen and you need to turn the car off and restart to get the moudule restart. Other than that, no camplain.Some people say there’s no sound using this moudle, what i did was connecting the phone using bluetooth with the Audi MMI and basiclly the sound will play directly from Audi MMI instead of carplay moudle at the same time carplay is also working just like any other carplay I’ve used.

Intermittent and Poor Support — Works most of the time
This item was purchased about a year ago but has failed to operate reliably. The unit, from almost the beginning would not connect or the screen would freeze on the menu screen or would flash between the menu screen and the map display. This situation occurs about half the time when I use the system. Repeated attempts to connect with the supplier technical support has resulted in either completely ignored requests for service or a denial that the products was provided by them even though I selected to the supplier link provided in the Amazon product page. I’ve since given up on receiving any support or recourse for this unit but I wanted others to be aware of the product quality and the customer service abilities/willingness of the company selling this item. Judging from the number of review stars, it seems others are experiencing the same except in a few cases. I will say, that when the unit functions, it is nice and works with the existing controls of my Audi Q5.

Perfect no-compromises option to easily add CarPlay
Love how easily this added CarPlay to my 2016 Audi Q5. I’d been searching for options for years and all of them required either expensive changes to the dash to add a new monitor or involved a loss of function of backup camera, stereo controls, etc. This allowed me to retain all the controls and features of the Audi MMI I wanted, but add full CarPlay. It almost feels like I got a new car.

Love this. Long overdue purchase. Easy to install with various YouTube videos out there. Can do that and fully customize it within an hour. Based on the instructions I was worried that the rear view OEM camera would require extra complicated installations (because I had a manual transmission) but luckily that did not end up being the case. So far only one day in but works flawlessly so far – very happy.

Shipped very quickly and the CarPlay works as intended. It was a bit tricky with installing and having everything fit, but with some videos I was able to put it all together in about 2 hours.The installation instructions are pretty good but they could be a bit more descriptive. The dashboard removal video seemed short – only shows you how to remove but could have included how to put everything back together.I also figured out that you don’t need to have some cables connected like the USB one if you have a reverse camera from factory. That would have been helpful to know, but again figured that out myself.Some people had talked about other CarPlay systems not working great with the B&O sound system but mine was fine. Phone calls also had no issue. I’m hopeful that all of this remains without issue!

An absolute MUST HAVE! Phenomenal product. Despite the instructions being in broken English and abysmal, if you have the slightest electrical inclination, it’s hard to mess up. Audio quality doesn’t suffer either, and the retention of the OE system with this added CarPlay system is amazing to have. Wireless connection every time without failure, no issues. 10/10 product, very snappy and responsive too.
