Flawless Install and Function, Great Alternative
Got this to update the maps and software for my 2018 Toyota 4runner. It arrived quickly and was super simple to install. I removed the old microSD and replaced it with this one. When I turned the vehicle on, the screen prompted that an update was available. I choose install and it said to leave the vehicle on while the install happened. It took about five minutes, then prompted a restart of the system (not the vehicle). It couldn’t have been easier, and now the maps reflect a lot of the construction and new road changes. Worked flawlessly at a great price. I will use this for future updates.

Legit and easy set up
When I bought my 4runner it did not come with a micro sd card for navigation. I always use my phone, but thought it would be nice to have maps and navigation all on an as card for offline/off-road use. The navigation software was incredibly easy to install. Keep car off and put in the new sd card. Turn car on and start engine. It will recognize software that needs to be installed and start right away. Takes about 5 minutes then the system asks for a restart and you’re done! I can’t believe how much money Toyota wants to charge for this.. thanks for the hookup!! 🙂

It really works!
I was skeptical at first about buying this because I went to the dealership first to get a quote which was ridiculous because they wanted $400 for the software update. They told me it was going to be a waste of time purchasing here due to the fact my vehicle would only accept software up to a certain year which was crap because as soon I installed it my gps maps were up to date within seconds and its been working fine for several months now on top of the fact I literally drove across the country with it.

Facts about Installation
I have a 2016 Camry Hybrid and the memory chip was 100% compatible but there are things you should be aware of before placing this device in your car’s navigation system. This is much more than a memory chip. It also contains software upgrade. When you install the device you put the new device in your navigation system and then start the car’s electrical system. You do not need to start the engine, but the update process will take about 30 minutes. DO NOT TURN OFF THE POWER during this update. You will see module count down as different software modules are loaded. At the end of the upload make sure the system is still running properly by bring up the map. Then turn off the car electrical, count to 10 and turn it back on. It will be doing update and map data linking. Do Not Turn Off the electrical system. Engine does not need to be running. In about 5 minutes it will say completed and your map will return. You are now good to go. Great product Great experience. Have fun travelling.
