Fault and detection:

Installation:

3.For other devices:

It works
Worked fine in 2022 Hyundai Ioniq and 2018 Chevrolet Colorado. Did not work in 2015 Mercedes GLA but I think that does not use usb for “aux”. Plays commercial Music cds and audio book cds. Plays burned mp3 and wav cds. Works when at an angle. Steering wheel controls work for play pause next last. Audio system changed to last played when disk is ejected and switches back to cd when a disk is inserted. There is a delay while the cd initializes every time a disk is put in. Annoying but not unbearable. If you want to play cds in a newer car, this one works for me.

I purchased this last 9 months ago and I should’ve paid attention to the 3 star rating. It started out working great the first few months but these last 2 it will play randomly. It will start a song and halfway through it starts to freeze, skip or stop completely. I’ve tried disc’s recently purchased, older disc’s in my collection.I should have paid the extra 6 bucks for the product protection because for a purchase price of 55 dollars it will cost more to fix. When it worked it really synced well with the audio car system. Also, I’ve always keep it in the house when not in use so it wasn’t left in extreme cold or hot temps…..

External CD player for vehicles equipped with USB port
First off this will not function as a stand alone player. It is not Bluetooth capable. It is specifically for vehicles that have external data USB port. It cannot connect via a usb charging port. I connected to factory Bose system in a 2022 KIA no problem. I was also able to connect to aftermarket head unit Alpine ILF-f509. It work very well with no skipping from bumps. Be aware that you must allow cd to load up for 20 seconds once you insert disc before starting playback. If not it will stutter a few times when the first song is playing. In other words insert cd then wait about twenty seconds before pressing play button on head unit. It sounds good. One caveat is they did not design unit with a mounting bracket for under dash install. They did include a sticky mounting pad. It does not have rca jacks for audio out.

-Gapless playback-Fits under outlets in 2022 Chevy Malibu-CD pauses when phone mic is being used-When exiting vehicle, unit stays lit for 20 to 60 seconds then turns off but CD pauses as soon as car is turned off. Resumes at same exact spot next time.-The screen works great, you can slide the song to FF or RW with no lag or push next or previous, pause, etc-Tried a few store bought CDs so far they all play-Not sure about DVD or mp3/wma files yet have not tried-Low or no noise spinning-Plug and play. Put CD in for stero to find the USB audio jack.- No skipping (so far)It has everything you’re looking for in a normal CD player. Some of these other units do not have gapless playback which is insane after all these years of CD players. The one I returned did not have gapless playback and also was super loud when the CD was spinning. This one operates perfectly! Highly recommend!

I plugged this CD player into the USB port in my 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid, put in a Tom Petty CD, turned on the audio, went to “sources” and USB appeared as one of the choices. Selected USB and the CD started playing. The screen display offers pause, forward and back, etc. The sound is what I would normally expect from my car’s sound system. This is an awesome little unit.Second review: My excitement about this CD player ended after discovering it will not play most of my CD collection. My car’s system gives me a message that “this device will not work with the system, please remove it.” I discovered this problem too late to return it. Going to try warranty…

You need an eject button for a stand alone CD player plugged into an amp/receiver. DVD drives like an Apple Superdrive will play CDs but you use a laptop’s file system to eject the disc. Using this CD player with an Arylic streaming amp and it starts playing the CD immediately once you insert it. Haven’t tried it in a vehicle yet but that was a secondary purpose for me. A CD player with its own power supply would have worked fine with the streaming amp, but having it powered fully through the USB makes it handy and easy use with different amps, room by room, or back and forth between car and house. btw, those Apple DVD drives do not power up when connected to stereo components, so you need something like this External USB Car player that is designed to operate without needing a OS filing system. All that remains to be learned is how durable it is. Here’s hoping that being designed for car use means it’s built to be durable and last.update: tried it in a late model automobile and it was not recognized (2022 Jeep) but this auto’s host computer doesn’t have the U-Disk function–no U-Disk icon. The U-Disc is what the Xglysmyc instructions say to look for. If you wonder about compatibility with your automobile, it may help to look for a U-Disk app/ U-Disc icon in your system screens. I didn’t reduce my 5-star rating because I’m using it with a streaming amp for home stereo, and car-use was not a priority for me. Also because auto makers don’t make it easy to figure out what kind of system your car has and what it might be compatible with. Xglysmyc’s product listing gives key info (Android and U-Disk) that should help.
