Works great when it works!
I have used probably ten of these products, as at some point the elastic bands snap.The manufacturer is really good at providing replacement parts for the plastic parts that break – they are sent postage paid and for free.The screen folds down to be very small and unnoticeable. And the reflective powers keep the interior from getting really hot. It operates smoothly and is easy for me to use by myself (my car is not very wide).

I am no longer fighting in my car with a foil panel!
I recently purchased this because I can’t spend yet another summer fighting with a large foil windscreen shade to get it in place, wack my kid in the face with it as I pull it out of the window to fold it up and throw it at the kids behind me to start the car. This shade is a game-changer. It works even better than the foil panel which never fit well and would slip and slide and would constantly bump my rear view mirror which needed adjusting every drive. It is high quality and covers my entire windscreen. It is easy to pull across and lock into place on the driver’s side with a small hook. It’s super fast to unhook it and make it click into the bracket for a drive. I had been worried that it might rattle but it locks in and doesn’t rattle at all. I was also worried that it might create a blindspot in my peripheral view but it doesn’t at all. One pro is that the product is a high quality metal, but a con of that is that it can get a little hot to touch when you first get in a hot car.Full Disclosure: I had my husband put it together and install it in the car. I took one look at it and decided it was took much for me as I am not one to read instructions. It only took him a few minutes to put together and install in the car (about 5 mins). The one issue was that the adhesive pads on the product were completely dry but we had plenty of 2-sided adhesive tape that we put on. My husband is buying one for his car as well.

Loved it until…
I originally purchased this same shade directly from the manufacturer many years ago for my vehicle. It lasted so long that I decided to buy a new one when one of the strings broke. I still own the same vehicle. I have changed my review, since I have had the new one for about 1 yr, one of the strings has broke already. I am very disappointed.Update: 8/27/21. I contacted Dash Designs directly. They were very helpful and quickly answered. I was able to get a replacement for my shade since it has a 2 year warranty. I love this shade. It is so easy and convenient to use.

Do not buy this it does not cover the whole dash of your car. And if you place it to low it will scratch your dash.

Didn’t fit my Lexus ES360
I love the shade, but gave it 4 stars because it didn’t fit my Lexus ES360 even though it said it would. The shade was too large for the window (measured from top of window to bottom). I probably could have tried to shave off some of the plastic to make it fit, but it fit my husband’s Honda Accord perfectly so we put it in his car. I don’t know if we just happened to get one that was mis-measured or if I would have the same issue with another one. It was very easy to install and I love the ease of use.

Most valuable for auto owners!
I have used this product for over 15 years. This was the second shade purchased and I cannot imagine not having one in my car to prevent sun damage to my dashboard and limit the high temps in warm weather. After 13 years of use, the string broke when I tried to stretch the shade into place. But, I am totally satisfied that I had to replace it after that many years. I will buy this again and again and highly recommend it for keeping the car cooler then one can ever imagine. If you use it with respect it will llast for years!
