Second thoughts
I have a stock OEM Toyota headunit and been using CarPlay, but wanting more. The first time loading the apps, I noticed a little lag, but I set up the WiFi, hotspot, then loaded the apps again and it was quick and works well. I haven’t had any dropped connection both on the CarPlay and video apps. I did have to turn off CarPlay connecting automatically to do the video apps or CarPlay takes over the whole screen. It’s connected to my hotspot WiFi. Kinda wished I could cast to my headunit instead of using the internal YouTube app. No issues with audio. Wish the wire was longer so I can hide the dongle better. Now when we chill in the car with the kids we can watch YouTube or Netflix together instead of on my phone. Pretty easy to setup, now I just need a dedicated hotspot rather than my phone as I don’t have unlimited hotspot data.Update: LAG. Automatically goes to CarPlay, can’t use YouTube and other video apps unless I disconnect CarPlay. Always have to turn on hotspot and connect each time to WiFi.

Couldn’t Login to YouTube
I couldn’t even log in to my YouTube account. I double-checked the password and tried typing in at least twice, but it wasn’t accepting it. It’s such a shame we’re forced to buy a separate product just to get wireless CarPlay, but this doesn’t seem to be the product that’s going to work for me. Even if it worked the way it’s supposed to, I didn’t like that you had to choose between YouTube/Netflix and CarPlay. That’s not super helpful. So I’ll just plug my phone in for CarPlay (or buy one of the wireless CarPlay products that don’t have YouTube, as they are much cheaper) and I’ll continue using my phone when I want to watch YouTube. I’m returning this item.
