Amazing Projector.
Just to set the stage. We have a dedicated theatre room, and have had a 4k Projector for a while. Since around 2019, that’s when we made the 4k upgrade. At the time we chose one of the top-of-the line 4k lamp projectors. It’s worked out fairly well. At the time, it was considered ‘bright’, by bright I mean roughly 1800 lumens.What this really meant was that a DARK room is required for best results. That’s OK, we have that, we have a dedicated theater room, with curtains and can darken the room. For movie nights, it was fine. Fast forward to 2025 and I want to use that room for more than just ‘movies’. Nobody wants to watch TV in the dark all the time and the projector just simply wasn’t useful with the lights on. It was a struggle to watch. So I wanted a daylight viewable projector, and also one with LOW LATENCY so I could game in there if need be.The problem, though was that all these laser projectors that met my needs were north of $3k and I wasn’t ready to do that.This projector is absolutely amazing. Marketing says it’s 4100 Lumens so more than double the previous projector. While I haven’t measured it. I did spend some time with another projector claiming 3800 Lumens and they were very similar. But I stuck with the XGIMI. Why? For the following reaons.1) Super easy to mount. Hard to tell from the docs, but there is a standard 1/4-20 screw hole on the bottom and that’s all you need.2) It’s portable. While mine is mounted currently, I could unmount it in about 2 minutes and take it with me.3) It’s not just a projector. It’s also a SmartTV (GoogleTV to be exact). While our media room has an AppleTV, all of that is piped through a 4k / Dolby Capable reciever for the surround sound. So unless I’m using the Google TV, I’m driving it through for the reciever for the surround sound. Having said all of that, the sound from the unit itself, in our room is pretty fantastic.4) Quick startup time, the other projector had significant delays starting up and shutting down.5) Color and brightness are out of this world. While some folks complain of ‘rainbow effects’ from laser projectors, I don’t see any of that so I’m super happy. But I also have a pro-level screen it’s being projected against. So for me it’s just 120 inches of awesomeness.It literally draws 1/3rd the power of the previous bulb projector.So what are the cons?1) The form factor is a bit odd, but I’ll take it.2) The fact that it has an integrated GoogleTV OS. Google could just decide one day to brick it or get out of the TV business and you’re hosed. That’s a very real possibility. But for now I’ll take the flexibility and roll the dice. I expect even better projectors in the next 3-5 years.FANTASTIC VALUE. If you can pick this up for $2k or less don’t hessitate. It will change your projector world.

Disappointment from $2000 XGIMI HORIZON 20 projector.
There is no phone mirroring unless you go through the Google Home app. To mirror your phone, you have to take multiple steps. I always use Fire TV for mirroring something on my projector. I have to exit Fire TV, go to the Google Home app, and after a couple of clicks, casting starts. Then I have to reverse everything to go back to Fire TV. Also, I have to install all my electronics to the Google Home app to mirror my phone. Why do I have to use Google to mirror my phone? With my old projector, I never had to go through the Google Home app; all I had to do was one simple step to connect to my $250 projector. I am very disappointed spend $2000 for no basic function.After months usingProjector Started losing voice I have to unplug and plug the power cord voice returned no problemAlso started I watch something turn it of next day push the remote power button nothing happens unplug and plug the power back to normal again.I think it’s a major software issues with this projector.

Amazing value for a powerful projector
Brightness and clarity is amazing. Color is great too. It also comes with a good speaker. I also love the image shift feature, since it allows extremely easy set up. Auto keystone is very fast and accurate. It also has a game mode for low latency. I enjoy playing switch games on it. The only downside is it doesn’t have phone screen mirroring like Airplay built in, but you can use a workaround by using 3rd party apps like AirScreen.

Excellent projector
The XGIMI Horizon 20 Pro is an impressive projector, especially in terms of picture and sound quality. I originally considered getting a projector screen, but it turned out to be unnecessary since my media room has no windows and a clean white wall works well.The built in Google TV is also a strong advantage. I had looked at the Hisense C2 Pro as an alternative, but its TV OS did not feel as polished to me.Considering that the Chinese version of the Horizon 20 Pro, the RS 20 Pro, costs about half the price on JD and Taobao, I cannot give it a full five stars. The projector itself is excellent, but the price premium we are paying here is hard to ignore.

The brightness is phenomenal in dark and in a bit of ambient light. in strong daylight too, the picture is viewable.The sharpness is top notch and the best part is it allows simultaneous streaming through Bluetooth as well as playback through inbuilt speakers (which are very good as well). This allows for a surround effect, although there is a very slight lag in sound play back through both outputs.The design is great and zoom allows for control over image size. Ultimate size of the image will be dependent on distance from screen
