Actual purchaser, 3 one I’ve tried, there is a trick to these things…
So this was going to be the 3rd and last try at a device to stream to my infotainment system (I have a 2019 Volvo XC60 that supports Apple and Android Car Play).Happy to report this is a perfect combination of processor, memory, and Android version to make a device that isn’t laggy and streams with great quality. I did however learn a trick to them. If you want a perfectly stable device just plugging it into 1 USB port isn’t stable enough power. On Amazon you can find a little adapter that allows you to plug into the USB C port of this device, add external power from say another USB port or cigarette lighter adapter, and plug it into your car’s USB port for CarPlay.Stable, smooth, fast, all the good stuff you hoped for in a streaming box.Oh one negative, since this is a “side load” type device for lack of a better term, apps that require the product be certified by the vendor simply will not work without you jumping through hoops…Netflix is one of those vendors that do not allow their app to run on “anything”, and it does not work out of the box on this device. Youtube, Youtube TV, Prime Video, are the ones I’ve tried so far and they worked great.

This device is slow and many apps show up as incompatible with this device on playstore. For the hefty price it should be able to do a lot more. There are other devices on the market with the same specs that cost much less.

Does not work with all streaming services
While the device itself works pretty well, there are some issues. First it does not work with all streaming services. No Disney+, Hulu, or Peacock, just to name 3 big ones. Not sure why since it seems to be a basic Android table style UI. The app store just states my device does not support these apps.The second issue is that, unlike Carplay, it doesn’t hold your place in the app. So If I’m listing to Spotify and stop to grab a coffee, I have to go back into the app, restart, and pick a playlist again when I start the car back up.Still, it’s great for long trips or for listening to the late night monologues the next morning on the commute to work.
