Works great as long as you keep the phone close to the adapter
I bought this adapter to replace an older one that would randomly decide to stop connecting every couple of weeks, forcing me to do a reset and set it up again. This new adapter connects easily and latency does seem a little better, through it is still there. Unfortunately, this adapter seems to have very poor range. I have to keep my phone within a foot of the adapter. If I pick up my phone for any reason while I am playing music and move it out of that range the stream breaks up and the screen lags or freezes. With my old adapter, I could keep my phone in my pocket and CarPlay would still work fine, which is much more convenient than having to take it out and place it near the adapter every time I drive. I will probably go back to my old adapter and look for something else.

Unfortunately, it does not work / the car does not recognize the device when directly inserted into the usb port in my car, which is how I wanted it to work so there is less clutter. Contacted customer support who said they can’t help me, did not offer a replacement or exchange.
