Good coverage but not an perfect fit
I’ve used universal sunshades for years and had issues getting them to stay in place or providing full coverage. I ordered this sunshade for my X3 because it was advertised as a perfect fit. News flash: it’s not, the 2 discs overlap each other slightly. In the product description, it mentions “Nissan Altima” so maybe the manufacturer intended it to fit that car as well. Even though it is a bit large for the X3, it is an improvement over the universal shade, staying in place much better due to the rearview mirror cutout and the discs fitting into the grooves. The overlap in the center causes a small amount of coverage gaps, but you can get most of it in place. It’s easy to fold up and put back in the bag for storage.

I am so glad I got this! It’s been crazy hot here, in the 100s, and my car was a sweltering nightmare! I saw this and thought, hey, why not? I’ve used it a few times now, and it does help to keep the heat at bay. It’s easy to set up, fits my BMW X3, covers the front window perfectly, and can be stored away easily in the included bag. Love that it has a slit for the mirror up at the top and then velcro to make sure it covers up nicely. Quality is good, and the cost is in line with others out there.

It’s Official it beats the Texas Heat
Ok folks, it’s official this sunscreen beats the texas heat, well at least the heat in June, LOL!. This product is just as described in the product listing. I love how it comes with a pouch so after you folder the sunscreen up, you can place it in the pouch. So you don’t have to worry about it exploding back open on you. I had that happen a few times with similar products. So the pouch was an added special in my eyes. The instructions are easy and it’s a real no brainer, to setup and take down. I think you will enjoy the difference in the degrees of heat from having this handy item compared to not having it. This product is also light weight. I have enjoyed this product and will continue to use it throughout this summer heat in Texas, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it will handle once we hit >100 degrees, its just a matter of when not if, at least in my neck of the woods it is. Try it out, you just might like this product as well.

Not a perfect fit and coming apart
First I want to say that I’m not fully convinced this is exclusively made to fit the 3rd gen (G01) X3. I’d say it’s good enough, but not a perfect fit. I’ve seen sunshades made for specific models and they tend to easily snap in place between the A-pillars, the headliner and the dash. You need to rearrange this every time to block out all the light and if you’re by yourself, the passenger side is hard to reach. This is not to say it’s not effective, just that it’s not much different than a generic fit.Once in place, it blocks almost all light. I found that when folded up, it fits easily and neatly between the seat and center console.Note: After a dozen uses, I noticed the bottom seams have come undone, revealing the metal frame. The sunshade can slip between the bottom of the windshield and the dash, which causes the seams to open up when you tug it out. I can’t see how this wouldn’t happen to anyone using it in this model. A better fit would likely avoid the issue. Unfortunately, I have to lower my star rating from 4 to 1.
