There are less expensive versions but this one is a quality product
I’ve been looking for a different sunshade to use in my minivan instead of the fan-fold, bubble wrap variety which doesn’t fold very compactly. This umbrella-style had the correct dimensions so I ordered the 56″x31″ version. It includes a sleeve for storage that is 12″ long and 3″ in diameter. There is a Velcro strap that compresses the umbrella which is useful for wrangling it back into the sleeve. I’m going to use a slightly larger nylon stuff sack for storage since it’s much easier/faster than the sleeve.Before using the umbrella, I was dubious about deploying it inside the van because one reviewer mentioned opening it outside the vehicle and inserting it thru an open door but I had no problem opening it inside. The listed dimensions are correct and it fit my van perfectly. There is a cutout in the top and middle to allow the rearview mirror to pass through. I find this helps prevent the sunshade from sagging in the middle. The short handle can also be used to push up from the dash if more support is needed. The handle can even be bent in its middle to better align with the dash.The fabric’s thickness is substantial and completely blocks the sun and reflects heat. It looks like an aluminized coating on the top side but the ad states “Thickened titanium silver layer” — at any rate, it works. The inside surface is black that further helps darken the interior. The stretcher frame is made with metal and fiberglass rods that are connected with heavy-duty joints. The umbrella doesn’t have to withstand wind but it’s nice to see its robust design. The seams are backstitched locked with no unclipped or loose threads.There are some less expensive umbrella-style sunshades on Amazon and while I can’t vouch for their quality, I can vouch for this one made by Funomo who offers a one-year warranty.

Keeps My Car Cooler & Saves Me Time — Total Mom Essential!
As a mom, anything that makes daily life a little easier (and less chaotic) is a win—and this windshield sun shade has honestly been one of those small upgrades that makes a big difference.First off, the umbrella-style design is a game changer. I used to struggle with those foldable shades that never fit right and took forever to put up. This one literally opens in seconds—just like an umbrella—and I can pop it in place quickly, even with kids waiting in the car or groceries in hand.The fit is surprisingly good in my SUV. It covers the windshield well without leaving annoying gaps, and I like that it doesn’t scratch or press awkwardly against the dashboard. When I’m done, it folds right back down and fits neatly in the included holder, so it’s not taking up space.What really matters to me, though, is the temperature difference. Living through hot summers, getting into a car that feels like an oven is the worst—especially with kids. Since using this, my car is noticeably cooler, and the seats and steering wheel aren’t scorching anymore. That alone makes it worth it.The material feels sturdy too—not flimsy like some shades I’ve tried before. Nice umbrella-style sun shade; works really well
This funomo umbrella-style auto sun shade works really well. I’ve had a couple of similar shades in the past and liked them, but this one seems better made than those, and I expect it to last a long time. Its price point is similar to others in this category, which seems fair to me given how well made it is.One thing I like is that this shade comes with a very useful storage sleeve. On some umbrellas and similar products, it can be quite difficult to get the product into the sleeve; here, there’s enough space for easy use when you’re not using the screen. This keeps the space it needs down in the car, which is nice.The screen itself works nicely; the umbrella function works perfectly in both opening and closing the shade. For our Toyota, I find it works best to open it outside the open door, then insert it into the windshield. In our car, the shade is about an inch wider than the windshield on each side, which isn’t a problem; if anything, it’s good to keep all the light out. The velcro strap holds it nicely in place, and the shade completely keeps the sunlight out. This is especially nice where we live, where the temperatures get really hot.Overall, this is a well made item that functions well, better than similar products I’ve used in the past. There’s a lot to like about it; good product.

Great concept; does NOT fit in a Jeep Liberty!
This umbrella sun shade is such a cool concept! My son has been wanting to get a sun shade for his jeep for quite some time now; but he really didn’t want one that was going to take up a lot of room in his car when he wasn’t using it.When I found this, I was pretty excited. This literally looks and feels like an umbrella when it’s folded up, it even has a carry bag to store it in.When it arrived, we easily slid it out of the bag and went out to the car. My son originally tried placing it on the windshield AFTER he opened it; but when I explained that it needed to be put against the windshield THEN opened, it worked much better.We did unfortunately find that this is not the correct size for a 2002 Jeep Liberty Limited. It is way to wide- the height is great, but if we open it all the way; the edges are curled or onto the windows, and there is way too much tension on the umbrella poles…I do feel that this will work wonderfully for cars that it actually fits, though; which is why I’m giving it 4 stars. The advert states that it “fits most vehicles”- I guess we just have one of the ones it doesn’t fit…Regardless of fit, while we were trying it out it definitely blocked the sun and the car did start to feel noticeably cooler. So grab this if you have a car that it will fit!
