Incredible focused distance light, & great hardhat lamp
These are heavy-duty, zoomable, very bright head lamps, that may or may not fit your use case. Overall quality seems very good.I ordered these to wear on my hard hat, but since trying them out, one of them will stay at home for different uses. I would categorize these as industrial use case, but again, I’ve found some home examples you might find interesting.These are not your, “well lets throw this on & go for a run”, head lamps. They are heavy duty, though not to heavy to wear while walking. I wore mine in one of my test videos while walking in our woods & walking our dog. This is where they shine – pun intended. You can adjust the diameter of the light beam down to around 24″ over 70+ yards. I mean a very bright beam all the way out & further. I shiined it on our neighbors house which is about 150 – 200 yards away & I think they thought they were being raided. Lol. As I said, it’s a very bright white light.The zoom function takes a little getting used to, but easy enough. Now remember, this is on the top. of your head. If you move an inch, it moves a couple feet way out there. (while zoomed in). I’m older & have tremors, but I was able to master it quickly. Just not something you’re used to interacting with. We have a mineral block in the back of our property & it was easy to find with this bright light. I was also using this at a temp of about 10 ° & it functioned just fine. I operated it with gloves on. It has a projector lens on it & it works just fine.You can also use the lens without zooming in & it casts a large, bright white circle that maintains its shape. The edges are slightly diffused, but not like your normal LED head lamp, of which I have many. It doesn’t operate like what you’re used to because of the projector lens. Using the regular light was easy enough to take a walk with the dog.The headpiece, I don’t believe, is meant to be used with just your bare head. I’ve attached a thin piece of foam to the front side that would normally rest against your hard hat. Plenty comfortable now. I found it difficult to wear with a baseball cap on, which is how I normally wear my headlamps. In fact, I dropped the headlight twice because of this. The light continued to function just fine. The band is very sturdy & adjustable as it should be…no issues with the headband.A couple of minor non-issues I guess. Charging seemed to take a while….maybe a couple hours. Non issue for me as I have spares & just generally plug them into charge overnight. Second issue, you have to click through the settings to turn off the light. It’s only a couple so it’s not a big deal, but I’m used to on/off, which is my preference. None of these were worth docking a star for my review, though your mileage may vary.All in all, I’m very happy with it & would recommend. Longevity remains to be seen, but I have had no issues thus far. The zoomed in projection light would be great for line workers or factory mechanics that need to see something in the rafters. Everything is clearly visible at distance, & very impressive. Counting the points on your neighborhood deer just got a whole lot easier.
