The data (like speed, RPM, lean angle) displayed on your R7M is read directly from your BMW motorcycle’s own systems.
Please note: Model Dependency: The availability of specific data features depends on your BMW model and its factory configuration.
Which BMW models are compatible with the R7M?
R7M fits BMWs with Nav Prep (SA 272): R 1300 GS/GS Adventure/RS; R 1250 GS/GS Adventure; R 1200 GS/GS Adventure (LC); S 1000 XR; F 750 GS; F 850 GS/GS Adventure; F 900 XR. If not listed, ask your dealer to add Nav Prep (SA 272).
How is the R7M powered? Do I need extra wiring?
No extra wiring is required. The R7M draws power directly from your motorcycle’s BMW navigation cradle. Simply plug it in, secure it with your BMW key, and you’re ready to ride.
Does the R7M have a built-in GPS?
R7M has built-in GPS to record speed, trip distance, and altitude. It’s for ride data only, not turn-by-turn navigation. When using Google Maps or Waze via CarPlay/Android Auto, location data comes from your smartphone, not the R7M’s GPS.
Does the R7M require an internet connection to work?
R7M doesn’t need its own internet. Navigation runs via CarPlay/Android Auto using your phone’s data. The unit lacks built-in mobile data. Temporary Wi-Fi is only required for initial activation and downloading OTA firmware updates.

Well made quality display for BMW motorcycles.
Great Nav/Carplay unit, the display is bright, clear and sharp. Intuitive menu that operates from the BMW wonder wheel with seamless CarPlay, updates are wireless which is convenient. All of the bikes telemetry is displayed in the info screens. I particularly like the ability to control most common brand action cams from the unit which puts it ahead of the competition. I would recommend this product if you are looking for a quality display for your BMW.

Plug and play on my R1250GS Adventure. Set up and over the air update was a breeze. It did require a micro SD card be installed before updating. Popped it in and the unit did the rest. Screen looks great and zero lagging issues. Wonder wheel controls are wonderful. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

Perfect fit 2016 R1200GS Adventure
The R7M is a direct replacement for the BMW Nav V/VI. I can easily use the wonderwheel to cycle between the bikes data and Android Auto. I highly recommend this for your BMW bike.

Buyer Beware
Generally, this R7M monitor works as advertised. However, it’s disappointing that the monitor does not show Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) data on the display even though my 2017 BMW R1200GS instrument panel shows the data. The lean angle feature of the R7M is also incompatible with my motorcycle. All this when I was informed, before purchasing the R7M, that the R7M provides complete compatibility with my BMW instrument readings. RiderNav’s explanation is that the missing fields are due to manufacturer-level protocol restrictions that RiderNav cannot bypass. RiderNav should inform prospective buyers of this shortcoming.

Works nicely, but a bit expensive
Really happy with it. Worked great as plug & play! It couldn’t be any simpler to set it up. Just plugged it in and it fired right up, with absolutely no complicated wiring. No issues with pairing my phone to the unit for both CarPlay & Android Auto either, super easy.The display is very bright & clear. I would have personally liked to see a 6″ screen, that way it would give the motorcycle a much more compact look, but that is purely my opinion. It also works great. This touch interface is pretty responsive. The way it works is seamless & has had no issues.The only downside is the cost, $300 is a little steep in my opinion. For performance, though, it performs very well and does exactly what you’d expect.

1200 Nits brightness is a game changer for sunny rides
I tried a smaller 5-inch unit before, but the icons were too small to hit while riding. This 7-inch HD display makes a huge difference. The 1200 nits anti-glare screen is legitimately readable in direct sunlight here in Arizona. I have it mounted on my BMW S1000XR. It locks securely into the cradle with the original key, so I don’t worry about theft at gas stations. The IP69K waterproof rating was tested in a heavy downpour yesterday, and it worked without a glitch. Solid build quality.

L’interface est juste fantastique. Bien meilleure qu’un Carpuride, + cher mais vraiment top pour toutes BMW à partir de 2014 jusqu’à aujourd’hui.Aucune déconnexion du CarPlay. Fahrzeug: S1000XR von 2016Nach dem BMW Navigator VI, dem WunderLING Cradle-Aufsatz zur Steueung eines Smartphones und Überlegungen zu Carp-Iter und Carpuride bin ich jetzt beim RiderNav R7M gelandet.Und …, bin begeistert.Positiv:Verarbeitung sehr gut.Bedienung / Steuerung per Multi-Controller funktioniert top.Schönes helles Display.Sperrung der Touch-Funktion (bei Regen) durch langes Drücken der Blinkerrückstellung ideal gelöst.FAQ in der Homepage sehr gut und ausführlich.Anfragen per Mail werden zügig (Zeitversatz beachten) und verständlich beantwortet.Negativ:-Und was noch zu testen ist:Die Spiegelung des Displays. Ich habe bereits die originale Entspiegelte Schutzfolie / Panzerglas angebracht. Sie ist nicht richtig matt, nur etwas weniger glänzend .Die gab es als Gratiszugabe über die Amazon-Bestellung dazu.Ansonsten finde ich 23€ unverhältnismäßig teuer, zu mal kein Rahmen zur Positionierung dabei ist. Passform ist aber top.

Hallo, ich habe am Donnerstag bestellt und bereits heute kam mein R7M an. Ich habe es dann umgehend per USB-C angeschlossen, mit meinem iPhone 17 per WLAN-Hotspot gekoppelt, eine 8GB Speicherkarte eingesetzt und das erste Update auf die Version 1.4.4 gemacht. Alles problemlos und zuverlässig. Dann runter in die Garage zu meiner F 900 XR, in die Halterung eingesetzt, Zündung an, läuft!Im Vergleich zu meinem Carpuride 502BS deutlich größer, sitzt das R7M durch die flache Bauweise und die perfekte Passform zur Halterung perfekt, verdeckt nichts und ich musste nicht einmal die Halterung verschieben. Das R7M sitzt perfekt mittig.Die Funktionen und Bedienung sind tatsächlich moderner gestaltet, viel größer und besser mit Handschuhen zu bedienen. Ich habe dann noch einen kurzen Funktionstest mit Helm, WW Bedienring usw. gemacht, alles scheint wie erwartet zu funktionieren.Ich bin begeistert und bereue diese Inverstition und den Umstieg von Carpuride nicht. Ich hoffe, meine Informationen und Eindrücke helfen dem einen oder anderen F900 Fahrer bei der Kaufentscheidung.PS: Die Funktionen zu Dashcam-Steuerung habe ich noch nicht getestet.
