Princeton Tec Has Fixed The Red LED – Now Dimmable
In the past I had purchased this item, and the red LED was not dimmable. In this latest version Princeton Tec has fixed the issue and the red LED is dimmable. Thank you, PT. Additionally the lamp is simple to operate and not accidentally illuminate the bright, white LED. Very important for astrophotography.

    Great Product

    So far so good
I’ve so far used this headbeam for 5 straight nights with having ZERO issues, with comfort, durability, battery life or anything else while using it, the only confusing part is IR if you want to use that “ you hold it down for 2 seconds” before going to red beam from there you’ll see the small IR light or if you’re running nods you see it then it obviously but other than that I’ve again had zero issues with it other than a it’s worth it the money, we shall see in 5 months.P.S. it does have a little weight to it but nothing you’ll notice after having used it a few times .

    Awesome headlamp
Works great. Super easy to use. White is super bright and other colors are perfect brightness for night ops. IR light works really well also

  5. Tau

Expsnive for what it is, but well built
IR LEDs are actually the cheapest LED color you can buy, but that doesn’t mean its cheap to buy a headlamp with them installed unfortunately. While this thing is very expensive, it does work as advertised. The “re-programing” is just fluff and very useless but having an IR option is a must have for those who need it.

  6. D. Vanderpool

    Very versatile!
It has all of the functions you need and more. It can be frustrating to learn how to cycle through the lights at first but once you do, you won’t need another headlamp for normal use and they place the instructions on the back of the battery cover which is very convenient. No lenses to swap out or lose. I have a flashlight with most of these functions, but this is easier to handle.

  7. HJR

    American made quality headlamp
What’s not to like. Bright as hell. Sturdy and waterproof. Tan goes with most of my old USMC gear. Multiple color modes. Good on batteries. Nice piece of gear to have for camping, hunting, work or whatever.

    Hold off, too many glitches
If you do not need the stated functionality purchase a lower cost model. I’m currently using a return/replacement. The first lamp fouled out on the Blue light. The replacement has fouled out on Green. The white light is outstanding. The UV should be a strobe, it is otherwise inedfective. Waterproof testing was also outstanding. Suggestion to manufacturer: test this stuff more rigorously. It would suck to discover these issues in the field.

Great headlamp!Good companion for Border Patrol, Custom, Army, Hunters, Bushcrafters, Outdoor Enthusiasts. It has multiple usage.

You need a competent headlight that runs on disposable batteries – the kind of thing you stash away untouched for years in the preparedness armory or bug out bag? You need something that comes on with a red light by default so you don’t wreck your night vision with bright white light? You need something that has built in capabilities for IR illumination, or green or blue lights? You need a reasonably strong white light but not so strong you give way your position to everyone in a large radius while at the same time draining your batteries fast? You need something waterproof? You need something comfortable to wear for long nighttime ops? Well if so, this is for you and probably only you. Everyone else should keep shopping and get something simpler and probably less expensive!

Great light … until the flimsy back plate attaching the light to the head-strap breaks in the cold.Impossible to repair.

  12. Mike Tetteroo

    fits my needs perfectly

  13. Sam

The three LED and the IR still work, but no main light no matter what I do, came on dim a few times, now nothing. Changed batteries numerous times, made sure its not button locked. Bummer, for the price it should actually work for more than a year, but got likely less than 100hrs run time total.
