So so easy! Works like a charm. A brilliant piece of tech!
I’m honestly so thrilled with this tiny adapter! I drive a 2018 Audi Q5 and it has wired Carplay that cuts out all the time! I’ve spooked to a dealership and googled how to make it work properly. I was told that I need to purchase Apple brand cords because they are certified MMI (multimedia interface) cables and will maintain the connection, but even those didn’t work and it kept cutting off in the middle of a connection. I had software updated and even reloaded, but it would cut off over and reconnect constantly! I saw this adaptor and decided to give it a try. Within about 10 seconds of plugging it in, the screen in my car prompted me to pair it with my phone! I did and VIOLA! it connected to Carplay seemlessly! It works perfectly! Connects immediately and has not cut out once since it been put in! The screen reads beautifully with a clear picture. All the apps on my phone show up on the car screen. Everything works as it should! It simply pkugh into the usb port. It also comes with an additional usb-c connector in case you have a usb-c port. It has a booklet of directions but I didn’t even need to open that! it’s small, about the size of a twist off bottle cap! I can tell it’s well made. This is a great quality product! I don’t have a cord hanging in my car now and I’m truly hands free while driving. You might think it’s a bit pricy but for this kind of good quality technology, I’m telling you it’s a great deal! My daily frustrations are gone! I don’t even think about connecting my phone when I get in my car now. it’s all automatic. I don’t even need to take my phone out of my bag! My car becomes my phone as soon as I turn the car on! This is a brilliant piece of tech!

    works with sync 4
I installed this in my F-150 with Sync 4, and it connected wirelessly to both CarPlay and Android Auto without any setup headaches. Plug it in, pair your phone, and it auto-connects on subsequent starts. The physical connection to the truck’s USB port stays hidden behind the dash, which cleans up the look significantly compared to having a phone cable dangling from the center console.Functionality is solid. Navigation, music, calls, and messaging all work as expected through the factory screen. Response time is comparable to a wired connection, and I haven’t noticed any lag or disconnection issues during normal driving.I’m docking a star because this is positioned as the 2026 model, and honestly it doesn’t feel like an upgrade over the previous generation. Same performance, same features, just a new model year on the box. The price has crept up to match the “new” designation too. If you’re upgrading from an older adapter, there’s no compelling reason to switch. If you’re buying your first wireless adapter for your truck, it works well, just know you’re not getting anything groundbreaking here.

Great, low profile, wireless CarPlay adapter
I have a car that has wired CarPlay but no wireless so I’ve been using a wireless adapter for a number of years. What I’ve found most important is that it reliably connects with your phone, it is low profile so a usb device isn’t awkwardly sticking out, and it’s from a reputable brand where there is less concern about data theft. This device fits all of these as good or better than my others.First of all, Ottocast is a well known, established brand so I trust them and expect their device to work reliably. This device has not let me down in those regards.Second, the whole reason I was looking to upgrade to a new device is the lower profile. I started out with one that was a box that attached view wire and awkwardly took up dash space. I replaced that either a USB key type model but it stuck out from the plug in a way that it was frequently getting bumped. Not only did that cause disconnects but it had me concerned about the usb port on my car inevitably breaking from this stress. This model solves that by fitting against the usb port making it much less susceptible to accidentally bumps. It also looks sleeker as a bonus.I was considered with it being too large and blocking the neighboring USB port, but it fits great and allows easy access.Overall, I’m very happy with this device!

    Super Fast! 🙌🏼
I got this for my 2024 Hyundai Palisade, which has a USB-A port for CarPlay. I had one prior to this that worked well, but it was slow to connect and sometimes I had to unplug it and plug it back in again to get it to work. This device connects much faster and I haven’t had it have any connection issues at all. I use it with iPhone. It’s a nice small size and I appreciate the strong stainless material on it and it blends in nicely with the black and silver interior of my car. It comes with a USB-C conversion if you need it. I also appreciate that it came with a color user guide that’s written in proper English. It’s super easy to hook up. I’ve had a few of these CarPlay adapters and this has been the best one by far. I obviously can’t speak for its longevity yet, but so far, so good. At the time of this review, there is a coupon price of $49.99 and I try I k that is pretty reasonable for the quality.

Petite little device works well in my 2015 beetle!
This device is a lot smaller than I expected. It is about 1″ diameter. That is a positive in my eyes because it’s not a big clunky device hanging out on my dash. My car has wire carplay but not wireless. I was able to plug this into my radio and it was easy to pair with my phone and start working. Came with instructions to help you pair your device. My device is an iphone 14 pro max. I have seen other devices on the market for the same price or less however I dont feel like this is a bad value. Its small and easy to remove and plug into other cars – thinking rentals. I travel a lot for work and plan to test this on rental cars that dont have wireless carplay. It’ll be in my travel bag! Held a stable stream without interuption.

    Didn’t work for me
Nice concept but doesnt work in my Honda pilot. I plug it in and it lights up. I can connect Bluetooth but nothing happens on my car’s screen. My phone seems to want tk activate android auto but stays stuck on connecting. Maybe there is a conflict with the native android auto in the car but I thought that was needed for the device to work 🤷‍♂️
