Works great to add wireless Android Auto on a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited
I got this for a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. It has *wired* Android Auto and Apple Carplay, but not wireless. The wireless variety of those is *SO* much easier to use… don’t have to plug/unplug. And that Santa Fe has a wireless charging pad so you don’t really need to plug it in via cable to charge it.So, I researched the various options for wireless dongles and picked this one, for one main reason: This model is “flush”… doesn’t stick way out. The USB port on the Santa Fe is in an area that you can optionally close, and those other dongles that stick out would have been in the way. Plus there’s a risk of accidentally hitting those and breaking either the dongle, or the USB port, or potentially both. With this, it’s slim, flush, out of the way. At least on this Santa Fe, it’s not blocking anything else since there’s just the one USB port there. If you have a car with a pair of ports next to each other, then I don’t know, you may want to think about whether this would block the other port and if that’s a deal breaker. For me, no worries. As far as how it works, I plugged it in and it showed some info on the car’s screen about how to connect. You go to your phone and connect to the dongle, and boom, that’s it. It works just like the car has built in wireless… aka, you connect via Bluetooth and then they negotiate a wifi connection for the actual AA wireless (I don’t use Carplay but I assume it’s similar). It works just like another car I have with built-in Android Auto wireless… you start the car, your phone detects the Bluetooth is available and then negotiates that AA wireless connection. It’s all automatic, seamless, and no fussing with wires. The initial connection took more time (maybe 30 seconds?) just to do all the negotiation, but that’s a one time thing. After that, it’s pretty quick from the time the car starts and your phone’s “projection” is available. At least as fast as my Ford with the wireless built in.All of the Android Auto stuff works fine… no issues bringing up Google Maps or Waze, whatever audio player (I Heart Radio for example, or playing MP3s), or any of the other integrated features (reading/sending texts, making calls and so forth).Pretty good quality – I haven’t touched it during operation to see if it gets warm or anything but it probably gets a little warm, just based on the fact that a phone doing AA wireless will run a bit hotter. That’s just how it works, and it’s expected.Great value too – for what it does, it’s a bargain. I know it’s just a bridge of sorts, but getting that sort of functionality into a small form factor at this price point… pretty cool. Worth the money.

Reliable Upgrade Over Generic Adapters
This adapter has been a significant improvement over the generic wireless unit I was using before. Setup was straightforward, and once connected, it has consistently auto-reconnected without the lag or random dropouts I experienced with my previous adapter. The connection feels stable, and the overall performance has been smooth and dependable. It delivers exactly what I want from a wireless CarPlay and Android Auto solution—convenience without constant troubleshooting. The compact size keeps things clean and out of the way, and the plug-and-play design makes it easy to install. For the price, the reliability alone makes it a great value. If you’re frustrated with cheaper generic adapters that struggle with consistency, this is a worthwhile upgrade.

Audio interference
I purchased this wireless Apple CarPlay adapter to avoid plugging in my phone every time I get in the car. Setup was very easy — it connected to my iPhone within a couple of minutes and automatically reconnects when I start the car, which is very convenient. However, I’ve been experiencing noticeable audio interference. Occasionally there’s static, slight crackling, or a brief audio delay, especially when streaming music or during phone calls. Sometimes the sound quality isn’t as clean as when using a wired connection. I’ve also noticed a small lag when switching songs or using voice commands.Navigation and functionality work fine overall, but the audio inconsistency can be frustrating if you care about sound quality.Pros:• Easy setup• Automatically reconnects• Clean, wireless setup (no cable clutter)Cons:• Intermittent audio interference• Slight delay in audio response• Sound quality not as stable as wired CarPlayOverall, it’s convenient, but if audio quality is your top priority, a wired connection may still be the better option.

No issues, get one it’s tiny and cool
Works beautifully and is small enough to work in my MX-5. No issues, took the place of the motorola I used previously and this is such a space saver. I do believe it’s slightly quicker as well to boot. Getting connected up to android auto was fast and seamless.

Works flawlessly, but no auto disconnect or shutdown
This adapter is very plug and play, no noticeable lag, and has been very stable. But my one gripe is that it does not power itself down or disconnect, so I find my phone stays connected to the adapter whenever I am home and makes me worry it’ll cause a slow drain, so I have to manually turn the bluetooth on and off for my phone every time I get in and out of my car.

Small, sits flush, works flawlessly
We recently got a used 2025 Kia Sportage PHEV. I was surprised to find that the car only had wired CarPlay. So obviously I looked on the internet for what I could do to fix this. Ottocast shows up as suggestion number two. I don’t know why it isn’t number one. It’s half the price of the number one suggestion and Ottocast is extremely small. It was a no brainer for me.It was easy to install and sits flush in the car using the USB A (you can buy the USB C version as well) connector. I was worried about power drain when the car was off but have noticed that after about 5-10 minutes, the USB power shuts off in the car.Pairing is extremely easy as well. Simply connect via Bluetooth and you’re good to go. No lag, it just works.

Voice control doesn’t work
It works quite well for Android Auto overall except for one fatal flaw – the voice control is useless. For whatever reason it will usually only catch the first word and then act as if you stopped talking. This is if I activate it with my voice or button. Totally kills handsfree functionality.

Es una auténtica maravilla. Igual que los mejores de hace tres años y muchísimo más pequeño.No necesita ningún cable ni nada, se pincha en el USB y apenas se sabe que existe.
