A speed display that works great for the price.
My new GPS did not have the mileage speed on it. So I needed something to show me the speed where I can read it better. I do a lot of cruise control type driving. It worked great for the price.

Interesting gadget with plenty of features.
This is a pretty cool little device that has some unique features that would be useful especially on long trips. I haven’t completely familiarized myself with all the functions and menus, but I did test out the interface, display, and basic function, and it’s a neat little gadget.PROS:- Nice design. Easy to use suction cup will mount it to your windshield. The digital readout is very legible.- I LOVE the input control. There aren’t multiple buttons that you have to hunt for while you’re driving. Just a little dial on the top that basically serves as a forward and backward joystick. And to press “enter,” you just push the dial inwards into the device. Kind of like a Playstation controller’s L3 or R3 inputs, if that helps explain it. Innovative interface design!- You have plenty of options to set up the display how you want. You can calibrate the speedometer, adjust the clock, turn off the color bars on the sides, select what data is being shown… very versatile.- When I first saw this product, I wasn’t sure if it was a gimmick. Not a lot of run-of-the-mill electronics have the ability to interface with GPS satellites. That kind of technology is usually reserved for phones/tablets… basically handheld computers. But sure enough, this searched for GPS and set the time to satellite time once it connected. (I had to adjust the time zone.) I wasn’t expecting it to work, but I was pleasantly surprised! Now, granted there are no built in maps or high resolution displays, but it does use the same system your phone taps into.- The functions have a couple great safety features for long trips. If you don’t have cruise control, and you have a heavy foot, you can set an alarm for when you exceed a certain speed. You can set reminders at hourly intervals to remind you to take a break or find the nearest rest stop.CONS:- It was smaller than I expected. Probably because the product photos are a little deceptive. Please see my photo showing the device’s scale.- No battery. You can’t charge it and, say, use it on a bicycle. The description said it could be used on a motorcycle, but not many motorcycles have USB ports. At least, mine doesn’t.- Instructions are small. I never used to complain about this, but as I sail into my 50s, it becomes more difficult to read small text! Also, some of it is a little unclear. For instance, the speed calibration says that if your car says you’re doing 100, and the speedometer says you’re doing 105, set the calibration to 102. Uhh, how exactly did they arrive at that? It will probably require some trial and error if you intend to adjust that setting. There’s not so many features that you’ll turn your phone GPS off and use this instead, but it does have some functions that are not built in to most navigation apps. For this reason, it does add value, and I would recommend it, especially if you have some long road trips planned.

Works well – you just need to read the instructions – I really like this device!
This is a pretty nead speedometer / odometer / altimeter device. But you DO need to read the manual… which unfortutately is printed with a super-tiny font and there’s no QR code to a full-resolution one. So I just took pictures of the settings tables and zoomed my phone to read them. The reason is this: There are 12 menu items you will need to set before you use it. But the menu items are ONLY in the form of a number. Then once you select a menu item, the parameter you set is also just a number. For example, to set “Speed Unit” you must go to menu item #7, then select “0” for Kilometers or “1” for MPH. And so it goes for all 12 items – but it’s really easy if you have the menu table at hand. One of the first menu items to get right is menu item #1: “Speed tuning”. For reasons I don’t understand, “out of the box” it may or may not read speed accurately. Mine did not. I’d be driving 45 down the road (according to my car’s digital speedometer) but this device showed only 25 MPH! That’s where the “Speed tuning” comes in. The default number (for whatever reason) is 107. The lower the number in that menu, the “faster” it makes the display read, if that makes sense. So after a few minutes of playing with it, I found that at a setting of 100 it perfectly matches my car speedometer at all speeds. It sounds way worse than it is – it’s really easy to dial in.To change modes (altitude, trip miles, total miles, satellite count view, etc.) you just tap the selector dial on top once quickly and it cycles through. You’ll see the tiny icons on the left of the display cycle through the four modes. To go into and back out of program mode, just push and hold the button for 2 seconds. Then you click the dial either left or right to maneuver. It’s all really easy once you fiddle with it. I’ve got mine all dialed in and we took a 200 mile road trip today and it worked GREAT! Where I can really see it being useful is when we take trips into Canada – my car doesn’t have a KPH scale on the speedometer – so I’ll just set it to metric speed and distance.A note about power: the USB power is USB-C for the device, but is only USB-A for the end you plug into the car. My car only has USB-C power sockets so I had to use an adapter. But the power cable is very long – that was a plus as my USB-c ports are in the center console. You CANNOT run it directly off your “cigarette lighter” power without using a USB-A power adapter.Despite the menu system and tiny instructions, I still consider this a really cool device and I’m giving it a full 5 stars.

    Helpful Travel Companion
I got this GPS digital speedometer for my off-road truck, and it’s turned out to be a pretty useful device, especially when driving in the city. My truck’s built-in speedometer does not give me an accurate speed reading due to the much larger tires I installed, so this head-up display fills that gap nicely. The setup was fast, just plugged it in through the USB cable, and it connected to the satellite signal fairly quickly. The numbers are big and easy to read, which helps a lot when driving at night since I don’t have to keep glancing down at the dashboard. It’s more than just a speed display, too. It shows extra information like driving time, altitude, distance, acceleration, and even a compass. I also like that it includes fatigue and speed warnings, which can be helpful during long drives when you start losing track of time or pace. Because it connects through GPS instead of OBD2, it works with any vehicle type, which makes it great for older vehicles like my 80s off-road truck. The screen is clear both during the day and at night, and I like knowing there’s a 2-year warranty if anything comes up. Overall, it’s a good value for the money considering how much functionality it adds. I am content with its performance and it’s made my driving experience feel a lot safer and more up-to-date without having to modify my dashboard. As for its durability, it does feel very light and seems a bit flimsy in your hand but only time will tell the longevity of this device.
