Fits my 2002 Chrysler Sebring Convertible, expertly sewn, genuinely waterproof
Having gone through five car covers in the last two years, I’m beginning to feel like a bit of a car cover connoisseur. Every one of those five car covers had obvious flaws or defects right away, or were made of subpar materials. Of those five car covers, four fell apart within 6 months; the fifth one is still functional and useable after 6 months but has failed in a few places. When I saw this car cover with driver’s side zipper, I decided to give it a chance even though based on my experience, my expectations were on the low side.I’ll state up front that so far, this car cover is exceeding my admittedly low expectations.I ordered this mid-size sedan car cover for my 2002 Chrysler Sebring convertible in the A4 size, which is a good fit for my car. It’s a few inches longer and wider than my car, but I prefer my car covers be somewhat larger, especially since I have to bend and tuck my radio antenna under the cover and don’t want to bend it too much. I also always go with a half to full size larger because it’s always easier to tweak/modify a car cover into something smaller than to make it bigger. The fabric is some sort of polyester that’s soft/nonabrasive on one side and wove-coated with some sort of reflective silver waterproofing on the other side. The silver coating(?) is even and fully covers the top side of the fabric. I found no delaminating, cracks, peeling or other flaws in or on the silver waterproofing. The fabric is lightweight and flexible. The waterproofing definitely repels water and dust; not a drop has seeped through the fabric during four recent strong spring rainstorms. The edge and seam stitching is outstanding. All stitches are expertly sewn, tight and even, and I found no skipped or loose stitches. They used a stronger, more substantial thread than any of my prior car covers. In particular, the elastic is very well stitched onto the front and back ends of the cover.Installation is simple: Unfold it and stretch it out over your car. The side with the zipper goes on the driver’s side door, and obviously, the mirror “pockets” go over the mirrors; both the zipper and mirror pockets make it bit easier to find the front and back sides of the cover. The zipper on the driver side is genius! I do wish the zipper was sewn in about 6 inches further back from the front (i.e., 6 inches closer to the back) so it would better line up with 2-door smaller sedans like my car, but the zipper is well placed for 4-door sedans (I tried it out on neighbor’s 4-door sedan and zipper was nearly perfectly placed). When they sewed the zipper in, they sewed it in such a way that there’s a good amount (almost an inch) of fabric on underside of the zipper so that way, the zipper doesn’t lay on or touch the surface of your car; no worries about the zipper scratching your finish! That’s an excellent and thoughtful attention to detail, and again, the entire zipper area is expertly sewn in.While many car covers have sewn in tie-down loops for tent-style stakes or odd strap-and-clip tie downs (but no stakes), this car cover kept it simple: There’s two fabric straps securely sewn onto the cover’s bottom edge in four places, mostly lined up with where a car’s wheels are located. The straps, while on the thin side, can simply be tied to your rims (like I show in my photos), or you could tie them to tent stakes if you prefer (no stakes included). I really like being able to just tie this cover to my rims; I use a simple bowtie knot so it’s easily untied. It’s nice not fussing with tent stakes that a good strong wind will pull out or get run over or can’t find when it snows, or have to fuss with bungie cords or plastic clips that fail after a few months. Sometimes simple is the best way to go.There is pretty strong elastic very securely sewn on the front and back ends of the cover. In the 10 days that I’ve been using this cover so far, I’ve had four rainstorms, two with strong winds that gusted as high as 24 miles per hour. I did not have the cover tied to my rims during the first windstorm, yet the cover held onto my car and did not go flying off. I had the cover tied to my rims during the second windstorm and again, the cover held on. I can confirm with certainty that this car cover is waterproof because not a single drop of rain seeped through the fabric during any of those four rainstorms.Overall, I’m optimistic that this car cover will survive my eastern Oregon weather for much longer than any of my prior car covers. It is expertly sewn, genuinely waterproof, thoughtfully designed, simple to use and priced appropriately.

An inexpensive, yet solid car cover for a specific set of conditions
I’m the type of person that takes great care of my vehicles, and drive them much longer than most. I’m also a car and motorcycle guy and typically have 2-3 cars of my own at any time, plus usually two different motorcycles. The care I give in each though shows in that I’m now pushing 50 years old, by my lifetime history is 7 cars/trucks and 4 motorcycles. 4 of those total 11 are residing in the garage now, two of which are resting under covers. And that gets to my point – every vehicle I’ve ever owned had at least one cover to go with it. I do my own maintenance but am also a busy guy. Plus live somewhere that has major seasonal swings and some of my vehicles are very much paired to perform in a specific season. So that’s all to say that I have a lot of experience with various covers. This cover is one of the most interesting / distinct of any I’ve used. It has a very thin, but soft, batting on the inside, and the outside surface is almost tacky – it’s clearly got a tight plastic seal to the surface. This is a cover you use to keep out the elements – not just dust. I have confidence that this would be the most water-tight cover I’ve ever used. I have some for my motorcycles that are designed to me “waterproof,” but are also very thin so I can take them with me when I travel – it’s nice to throw on a cover when you’re expecting overnight weather, and don’t have a garage available to park in. Those covers work fine and keep most of the water out when deployed overnight. This, thicker material would do that job much better. The material of this reminds me quite a lot of the material of covers I use for grills, fire tables, chairs, etc. in our back yard – which is very out of the norm of what I’ve experienced on other car covers. As a result, I feel this is also particularly suited for UV exposure, and would likely hold up in the sun without fading or breaking down long-term. The reflective outer shell would also help keep internal temperatures down, so would be better on your interior components if you are covering a car that’s going to be parked outside long-term, particularly in the summer. There is one MAJOR downside due to the material choice on this cover though – it’s nearly impossible to deploy a cover, particularly by yourself, without the outside layer coming into contact with your paint. While the interior layer of this is fine, I’d be VERY concerned that the outside layer would stratch paint while you’re installing or removing the cover – particularly if both the cover and the vehicle are not perfectly clean. This is a cover you don’t want to put on or take off often. This is best suited for vehicles that are going to be parked outdoors for long periods – thinking weeks/months or more. In that case it will protect from weather, and I think the cover itself would hold up to the elements and protect the vehicle for years even in tough conditions such as wind and sun without fading color, breaking down or ripping.I ordered the “hatchback” size for my 2017 Ford Focus RS. While this is not on the list of “applicable” vehicles, I figured it should be close enough to do well. The main thing on my RS that might make it distinct or fit different than other vehicles is the RS comes from the factory with a pretty large rear wing. To my delight, this wasn’t an issue at all and the cover fits almost perfectly, with one notable/peculiar issue — It seems the mirror reliefs are cut out to be about 8-10″ further forward than my mirrors are on my car. This is odd to me, because the RS has a surprisingly short hood/nose, and the cabin sits quite far forward – I can’t imagine many hatchbacks have mirrors that sit further forward than in my RS. So this might be a fitment issue for most cars this cover fits. That being said, the Focus might be on the larger side of hatchbacks, and in the Ford lineup, this cover lists Fiesta, rather than Focus. So I think the mirror reliefs wouldn’t be an issue on a smaller car, but then in my opinion, the whole cover would be too big! Even on my RS, there’s some extra room, and the cover drapes only a couple inches from the ground. On a smaller car, it’s likely to make contact with the ground, not fit tightly, and that would make it more likely for it to flap around and get damaged in the wind. So in that sense, the sizing is a bit weird. If you can fold in the mirrors on your car though, it’s probably an non-issue anyway.

Protects My Car from Snow and Ice Accumulation
While I don’t need a car cover for my car very often, I’m so glad I have it when I need it. We have an occasional snow or ice storm. This cover is so convenient to avoid having to remove snow or to scrape hard to remove ice from the car. This cover fits over the whole car with extended sewn-in pockets to fit over the side mirrors. Elastic is attached to the front and back of the cover for a tighter fit. The tie down straps provide extra security in windy conditions. The inside layer of the cover is soft and will not damage the paint, but I recommend a quick rinse or wipe down to remove small debris on the car surface before putting the cover on. The outer layer appears to be completely waterproof. The reflective strips on the mirror pockets, front, and back corners makes the car more visible if it’s parked on the street or in a parking lot. The zippered opening on the driver’s door is great! I’d hate to take the time to carefully secure the cover and realize I need something inside the car. This allows quick and easy access to the interior – especially useful if you’re using the cover for long term storage and need to occasionally start the car for a brief period of time. (Do not block the exhaust if doing this.)I like that the cover comes with a storage bag but it can be a bit of a challenge to fold the cover back down to fit into the bag. That’s OK. My husband’s retired and loves a challenge. For $49.99, this is a good value for a car cover of this quality.
