Overall I’m happy with the light. There is room for improvement however. There are reviews that state the light will not turn on. I thought I had one of these but discovered that if I held the power button for about 1 second the light will come on.Positives: light is bright enough for most work within 10 feet. I think the hat is actually pretty comfortable, the weight of the light is not noticeable.Easy to remove light for charging and yet feels secure while wearing.Compact size of the light.Negatives. Light is not centered, and too far back, almost touching my forehead, also making for a little more of a reach to the switch and puts a lot of light on the bill of the hat making it harder to see ahead. I ended up heating the base with a hair drier and moving it forward and centered. After this it’s very nice.There is no battery level indicator so you have no idea when it may die on you.When charging, which takes a LONG time, it flashes the light on low, I end up covering the light during charging.

A Cap You Didn’t Know You Needed
When my daughter gave me this hat for a birthday, I doubted I would use it much. But I tried it and discovered lots of situations where it comes in handy: grilling hamburgers in the evening, working on appliances in dark corners, walking through the woods after an afternoon deer hunt, and many more. I keep mine handy, and I ordered a couple more for my sons.

Incorrect description
This is a rechargeable light. Not battery powered as described. It has a short run and long charge time. If you run out of power, you have to wait six hours for it to charge. It flashes on and off until charged. Not a little red light, but the light itself. That’s a nuisance.The switch is difficult to engage. You have to fish for it under its flexible cover . It feels cheap and flimsy.It is not a functional improvement over the previous battery powered model. It doesn’t light the area as effectively as the previous models.It is a nice hat. The removable light module is a clever idea if it worked better. It allows. You to wash the hat without hurting the electronics.But overall, compared to the older model, it is not improved in function. I won’t buy another like this unless they provide two ,improved, light modules. One to use as the other charges.I’m keeping it. As a hat it’s a good one, but I still need a more practical hat light. One that doesn’t need six hours to charge.

Failure
The hat itself is perfect. However the light is a complete disappointment. I have winter hats with lights and it’s perfect for living on a horse farm. I used it one time and it will not charge or turn on. Don’t waste your time or money.
