Had one of these sitting around for a decade plus. Was stripping some paint outside which led to a small fire in my soffit (birds nest). One of these took care of it. Bought more to replace it.

Good product but far too small for any serious fires
Please note — The reason I want to drop this review is specifically cautionary. My reflections below apply to any reputable extinguisher of this size.The extinguisher works fine as-advertised, and I was able to break it out and discharge very quickly. That warrants 4 stars. Please keep reading below.I bought this to keep in my truck. Mostly forgot about it until today when we ran up against a serious multi-vehicle fire in the parking lot at the local hardware store. TLDR the fire ultimately engulfed one vehicle, then spread and damaged at least 3 others before FD arrived.I was one of the first people to spot the fire, tried (and failed) to stop it spreading. Very lucky the fire didn’t make it to where my truck was parked. I would not have been able to save my vehicle if it had.Important: This unit is simply not anywhere near big enough to deal with anything more than a very small fire. It’s not very powerful and runs out in about 5-10sec.I’m not sure this packs enough to put out even a small campfire; it didn’t make a dent on the burning engine block of the first vehicle.If you plan to carry one in your truck for a real emergency… or even just for the home… get something bigger. *Much* bigger.

Just in the nick of time! My mom used up my last fire extinguisher on a tiki torch mishap so it’s been over a year since I’ve had one handy. Decided to buy this since I just got a new fire pit. It arrived December 1st and on December 10th I had a small electrical fire in my kitchen that thankfully I was able to put out with one of these bad boys! I hadn’t even taken it out of the Amazon box yet which I did extremely quickly when I smelled smoke and saw Sparks coming from behind my kitchen counter… It was easy to work even in my state of panic… And it put out the flames. My kitchen was covered in fire extinguisher dust but that’s not a real complaint because at least I still have a kitchen! What else can I say…. Also glad I bought the 2 pack since the first one is all used up. Will certainly purchase again but hopefully won’t have a need for it.
