Worked great! Like, surprisingly well!
I tried something similar to this like a decade ago. Back then, the electronics weren’t as small, and the sound quality was only ok. Fast-forward to today, and my son wanted one of these for his vehicle, so I got him one and was so happy with the quality, that I bought another one for myself, for use in one of my older cars that doesn’t support direct integration with my phone. If you’re looking for a really inexpensive way to connect your phone to a vehicle that pre-dates that capability, this is perfect.Displaying the system voltage is a nice little bonus. Handy to make sure your car battery is working and charging correctly.

Chinese Junk! Don’t Buy! Good Price – Fast Shipping
What a piece of junk! Amazon shipped fast and I was happy ’bout that. Opened the box and everything looked normal. Got out my magnifying glass to read the 2-point type of their tiny instructions. Simple enough. Even a brain surgeon could figure it out. Plugged it into my auxiliary adapter and it came on. Put my FM Radio on a dead area of static and for the next 15 minutes tried over and over again to get it to sync with the radio. Tried many different dead area’s on the radio while trying to tune the FM Transmitter to that FM non-station.Turned on my Bluetooth in my Android phone and it said “Connected.” “Well, that’s great!” I thought. Tried to make a call via the radio. Didn’t work. Had the wife call me and tried to receive it via the radio. Didn’t work. Went back to trying to sync the KAIY FM Transmitter with a non-radio station. Nope. Wasn’t able to.The reason is this unit is flimsy. They try to make one toggle switch do everything and apparently their embedded software is scrambled or the switch doesn’t work properly. Toggle it up and it just spins at high speed through a bunch of numbers. Toggle it down.. same deal. That’s it. I don’t have the TIME or the PATIENCE to play around with some low-tech crap which is cheaply made. I’m one of these tech guys. A SENIOR who has been at the BEGINNING (i.e. forefront) of the computer and internet revolution. I’m an electronics tech also so I completely understand how this KAIY FM Transmitter works and how it is supposed to interface with my radio system. It’s just cheap junk!In closing I’ll say this. Back in the day when I was a young man I was so proud of America. Almost everything I bought said “Made In USA” and it was GOOD! Why? Because American industry competed against each other to make good products. When I traveled overseas to other countries people were also happy to receive American made products. They were QUALITY! They were built to last and of high standards. Then in 1971 President Nixon made a trade agreement with China and American industry started moving our manufacturing to China and other Asian countries including India, etc. We have now outsourced 70% of our Industrial capacity and what do we get in return? Cheap crap like this KAIY FM Transmitter from China, and now with Tariff’s we’ll pay even more for junk!Don’t buy this junk unless you want to be as frustrated as I am.

Toggle is silver painted plastic
This unit plugged into my power plug just fine. That power plug, however, is about a foot away from my radio and the signal between this unit and the radio is subject to interference from nearby objects. As a result, if my leg wanders too far near the unit, I sometimes hear static. The sound quality is very good when there is no interference. The display is acceptable. There is a female voice which announces when the unit is ready to pair … and that failing, it announces that it’s going into the music player mode. The voice sounds muted, muddy … but music play is wonderfully bright and crisp and the bass also comes through very well.My initial disappointment concerns the combination press/toggle switch at the upper right. The ad deceptively shows it as cast aluminum, when in fact it’s plastic which is painted silver. You will use that toggle often to advance or reverse through songs in your playlists and I expect the paint will soon wear off and become unsightly. Other than that and the static caused by my knee, I like the unit. I plugged a 32GB mini-flash card within a low-profile USB type B adapter into the player for music. Not a hitch, but I could not find a procedure for changing folders that I’ve created on that flash memory card. Apparently the unit just runs sequentially and hops into the next available folder as it goes along.I have not paired a smart phone to the unit, as I do not use my phone at all when I drive. Yeah, I’m old-school. For the price, it’s a good deal. When the paint rubs off the press/toggle switch, just toss it and order a replacement. I deducted one star for the radio interference and the cheaply rendered switch.

Transmits fairly well but the sound transmission is super low.
Not too bad on the transmission side. The sound quality is not so good.
