Installation Tip: 1) Pry open the OEM trunk/cargo lamp, replace the incandescent bulb with the bulb adapter, and plug in the adapter to the LED strip; 2) if the LED strip does not light up, simply flip the adapter 180 degrees; 3) find a relatively flat and smooth surface, clean with a cloth to remove any dirt or dust, and use the strip’s double-sided tape to stick the LED strip in place

Five stars? Is that all??? This zippy little light string is a “10” – maybe even an “11”.It is almost a sin that the manufacturers put a tiny little cheap bulb in the trunk. Nothing says I Love My Owners like putting a dim light back there when you need to pull out a spare tire, jack, etc. I guess they think everyone has roadside assistance.But I stay, sorry. Last summer I got a new car. It was not a cheap car, in fact it is probably the most expensive automobile model/package the manufacturer offers. But for them bucks I spent, they maybe spent a nickel for the bulb. In fact, the almost early evening I picked up my car and was checking everything out, I asked them to replace the bulb because it was so dim I thought it defective. I was told that was the normal brightness.HA! You want brightness? Get this light strip. It is just as advertised. Actually, it is better than it is advertised. This WORKS!I read someone say it took them about a minute to pop out their bulb, plug in this strip, peel the tape and put it in place. I thought they were lying. I found out they were… it only took 52 seconds. And that less-than-a-minute is worth 100 times more effort for what you get.As I said, It is almost a sin that the manufacturers put a tiny little cheap bulb in the trunk — but this fixes all that in a (okay 52) second(s).BUY THIS — I’m buying more to give out for gifts.Sorry for being so wordy. No, not really.Update April 2016I still love this light; however, I can’t get it to stay “stuck” on the crosspiece in my trunk. I’ve even added my own double sided tape to help keep it in place, and it falls off of that as well. My next step will be to get my 10 year old grandson to crawl in the trunk and drill small holes and screw it into place with some #6 x 1/8 screws.Love the brightness; dislike the adhesive like some others have said.if there was a half-star available, I’d change this to a 4 1/2 star because of the hassle.

Bright LED – Expect to do work for non mid mounted truck lights
Personally, I think my rating deserves a little more explanation.Brightness (5/5): As others have said this is an amazing LED light, the amount of light that comes out of this strip is quite amazing. I replaced an old halogen festoon light and the transformation was quite astonishing. Prior to that I couldn’t see in the dark, now when I open my trunk even the ground around my trunk is illuminated.Installation (3/5): This is where a bit of research comes into consideration. If you own a car with a mid-mounted trunk light then the installation is probably going to be a painless (5/5). I unfortunately, own a Jetta and the manufacture decided to mount the trunk light on the far right corner. The default wiring with this product is quite short and will require splicing and soldering to extend the cable.I was able to use an ordinary soldering iron I had at home and I ordered some 20 gauge wiring from Amazon ahead of time: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001JT1CEE?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_2Harness (3/5): Others have already said this and it’s very true, that harness and adapters are extremely fragile and can break during shipment. When my package came one adapter had already detached itself from its soldering connection. I had already planned on extending the wiring, because I had to, so soldering new connections wasn’t a problem. But if I didn’t plan on extending the wiring the broken connections would’ve been a real issue.Overall (4/5): Overall this product isn’t bad, but it isn’t great either. It does what it’s supposed to do, unfortunately I think the wiring harness and adapters could be redesigned. If you don’t mind doing a little retrofitting than this is a great product and you will be thoroughly impressed with it.

My trunk is better lit then my house now!
This light is awesome so far! The light in my trunk hasn’t worked since I got the car years ago and never thought much about it… Once I was looking for something in the dark though I finally wondered why I didn’t have one. I’m glad I found this over replacing it with a stock light because it is bright and lights up everything in the trunk better than I could have hoped. Install was simple. I used a knife to make a notch in the plastic housing because it pressed up tight to the sharp metal and this way it wouldn’t damage the wires. So far it’s sticking great and look forward to seeing how long this light will last.

Bright light ,but wires broke after a week ,making the led strip unusable !!
The led strip is bright and nice ..for the amount of light it puts out ,I would give it a 5 star front the start ..but I decided to give only 1 star because the quality of the wires feeding the light with power is the cheapest you can get on this planet…I I stalled the light properly, I’m a professional. Nothing ever touched the wires ..after few days the wires came u sime from the strip ..pretty Mich now they are broken away ..I would need to use a soldering gun to conect them back together ..and do my own magic to last …but from the start the wires ate so fine ,skinny and brittle ,they may brake agaun and again…I cant believe they design such a nice light with such a cheap wires..for someone that is not techy or handyman like me ,it may be the end of the product ..horrible !I saw another review on here saying the wires feeding the led strip ate flimsy but I thiughbtits just an isolated case ..no way,this is very common..So if you want a led strip that will work for a few days and than expect the wires to come undone or break from the soldering joint off the circuit board ,buy this one ..its a headache to solder them back on and it should not be this way

These LEDs are perfect for the truck.2 adaptors for multiple trunk connections.The 3M back sticks very wellntonupper section on trunk deck.Easy to plug together.I’ve blue is nice. Not to bright and you can still see everything.

I used this product in my old Nissan Altima 2008. Installing is just a matter of remove the bulb and plug in this strip to the bulb socket and then stick the strip to the car body. The light amount is just great. It looks exactly like in the pictures of the product description. End of stuggling at a dark time of the day with finding something in the car trunk.

I had the pleasure of purchasing this product and then I had installed it in an 18 camry. Setup was easy but what I did not like was that unfortunately the wires were extremely short. Short to the point of that I could not attach the strip anywhere but where the original bulb is placed. I was hoping to get two so I can place one on each side as it is dark on the sides. I will try and extend it by wiring a couple of links together. But for what it’s worth it is a nice bright light.
