    Turn a Taco into a fighter…
My first car with a HUD in the dash was a Nissan Maxima. The display was an expensive option for the top-of-the-line Maxima, and it did nothing more than project the speed on the windshield. How things have changed. Now you can add a much more informative heads-up-display to your truck via an aftermarket accessory that costs less today, even in inflated dollars, than a factory HUD cost in the 1990s.This is a great, unobtrusive addition to the Tacoma. The display itself is attached to a replacement grill for the left dash speaker of the truck’s stereo. Take out the old grill, insert the new one containing the HUD projector, run the cable to the OBD port under the dash, choose your settings and you’re done. The packet includes trim tools for concealing the cable (the hardest part of the whole procedure). You lose access to the OBD while driving to gain the HUD, but it’s not difficult to unplug the HUD from the OBD port if you need to record active measurements from your OBD while drivingLots of info included in the display–maybe too much. Some of the icons are pretty small. But it’s still an awesome addition to the truck.
