    Verry accurate gadget
The compass is verry accurate. I just wish the arrows moves and point to the right direction instead of turning the direction letters on and off. The speedometer is verry accurate as well. It gives 1 to 2 miles difference from my dashboard even before calibration. Over all this is a good gadget for its price.

    Calibration is off
I have a 98 mustang Gt the Mph went off so I purchased this to save money. I’m on the expressway passing cars left and right the device kept reading between 60 and 65 Mph. So I decided to try it in my 2010 Ford fusion which the Mph gauge does work. I’m on the expressway the Mph on my fusion was reading 70 Mph while the unit was reading 100 Mph that’s 30 Mph off. I returned it and ordered another brand.

Not a true HUD. Novelty at best
Pros: Clear displayEasy data change via top buttonSelectable on what to display (speed only for example)Auto dimmingHas GPS…will show exact coordinates (scroll to see Lat or Long)Mount sticks firmly to windshieldCons: Using the USB port means you can’t use CarPlay or Android AutoHas micro-USB port not USB-CSits on top of dash (not reflecting up onto windshield)Note: Requires a USB port that sends car data, such as Android Auto/Car PlayOverall, this is a bit of a novelty for someone who likes cars. This device isn’t a true HUD that reflects up on the windshield but sits on dash. Still, it provides lots of data that you can choose to display or not using the top button. I found it to be more of a distraction than helpful.Plugged in and it turns on instantly. Various display data, such as speed, direction, rpms, etc. can be chosen to be displayed or not using the small wheel at the top. The screen is easy to read and will be bright enough to read on the sunniest of days. At night it will dim automatically via its light sensor. It has no vents but didn’t get hot or even warm. I am not sure how it will hold up on a hot summer day though.I’d say this would be great for an older car, giving you a digital display, but older cars probably lack not only a USB port, but a USB port that sends car data to attached devices (like android auto). For newer cars, I don’t see the point in having this device.Bottom Line: Will make a fun gift for someone that loves cars or gadgets.

    Useless
Supposed to be heads up display but there was not reflective material so the entire thing is useless.

Display somewhat confusing in daylight. Compass arrow ALWAYS points north.
The display on this unit can get a little confusing, as there is a lot of information displayed at once. Fortunately, you can toggle through a bunch of display modes until you find the one that works best for you.I settled on just turning off the “# of GPS satellites” displayed in the lower right. That seems meaningless. If the unit cannot detect enough GPS satellites, it will simply not display any data, at all. This display is not a color LCD as used in smartphones. It is simply LEDs behind multicolored transparent plastic. There is nothing wrong with that; however, in the daytime, the portions of the display that are OFF are almost as easy to see as the parts that are ON. You can see everything, with the illuminated elements just being brighter than the others. For example, if I am traveling at 10 MPH, I would still be able to see the leftmost 1 numeral and the leftmost portions of the other 1 numerals. (just a bit dimmer). This happens with any display element that is not lit up. Yes, everything is understandable, but you have to train your brain to ignore the dimmer display elements. That happens only in daylight; at night, there are no issues. For another reason, the compass is very confusing. It took me a while to realize that the red arrow ALWAYS points to north. The proper letters of N E S W will light up, but again, it becomes confusing in daylight because of all of the letters being somewhat visible.Someone else mentioned that the unit gets information from the USB connection. Sorry, but that is totally wrong. It does not display RPMs, either, as that would require data from the car’s computer. It only gets power from the USB port, no data as all. I tested it using a USB power bank while going for a outdoor walk, and it works exactly the same. ALL of the information comes from the GPS satellites. By checking the GPS coordinates, it can figure out what direction you are moving and how fast. The time, elevation, and other data are either directly received from the satellites or calculated from the received GPS data. There is no data whatsoever supplied by your car. You can get apps for your smartphone that can duplicate every function of this device since they also have built-in GPS receivers. This would be a great upgrade for an older car or for one with a broken speedometer, clock, etc. There really isn’t any function provided by the unit that a car made in the last decade wouldn’t already have built into the instrument panel.

Bright attractive display, but in the end not very useful
The main reason I purchased this was to display my engine RPM value due to the fact that my manual transmission truck does not have a dash tachometer. Unfortunately, I did not read the item description carefully enough and thought it had RPM display capability. In hindsight this should have been obvious because there was no mention of an OBD2 hookup. The OBD port is typically the source used to read engine RPM values on similar devices. This Liiiyuan G12 relies on GPS satellite location to determine things like vehicle speed. This has to sit upright on the dash or attached to the windscreen with a bracket, so it is hardly discrete. Without the tach values this did not seem to be much use to me.THE PROS:* Nice bright display* Attractive layout for readout values* Several display format choices selectable using the button/wheel on the topTHE CONS:* To be useful it needs to sit on the top of the dash, but partially obscures vision due to its height* Not truly heads-up because no image is projected onto the windshield* Unless you hardwire this it takes up one of your usb power ports. Other items like phone, dashcam or radar may have a higher priority for you.
