Is this heads up display for cars wireless?

No. This is a USB-powered car HUD, not a wireless or factory-built system.

Will it work in tunnels or underground garages?

This is a GPS-based heads up display for cars, so signal may be temporarily lost in tunnels or underground garages. This is normal for all GPS devices.

Why does the screen sometimes show “—” or no speed?

This usually means the device is temporarily not receiving GPS signal. Please drive in an open area with a clear view of the sky.

Can I switch between MPH and KMH?

K1 displays speed in MPH only and does not support MPH/KMH switching.

If you need this feature, please consider our H1 model, which supports MPH/KMH conversion.

Can I calibrate or fine-tune the speed reading?

No. K1 does not support speed calibration.

The speed is calculated directly from GPS data for simplicity and ease of use.

Advanced GPS Heads Up Display for Cars: This Car HUD uses dual-mode GPS + BDS technology with a 10Hz high refresh rate, connecting to up to 32 satellites for fast, stable, and accurate real-time speed tracking
Clear Speed Projection Without Looking Down: Designed as a true heads up display for cars windshield, it projects speed directly into your line of sight, helping you stay focused on the road and drive more safely
Auto Brightness for Any Lighting Condition: Built-in intelligent light sensor automatically adjusts screen brightness for clear daytime visibility and comfortable night driving without glare
Plug & Play USB Power (5V) — Wide Vehicle Compatibility: This head up display for car is USB-powered, no OBD port required. Compatible with most cars, trucks, and motorcycles equipped with a USB port
Large, Easy-to-Read Display: Displays speed in MPH by default (up to 115 MPH) with a large font and anti-reflective metal shading, making it easy to read even for older drivers or while wearing sunglasses
GPS-Based Accuracy You Can Trust: Like all Heads-up Display, a small deviation (0.6–1.8 MPH) is normal. Best performance is achieved in open areas with clear satellite signal reception
Important Usage Notes: GPS signal may be temporarily affected in tunnels, underground garages, heavy rain/fog, or vehicles with metallic windshield film. If you have any questions or issues, our support team responds within 24 hours

A Surprisingly Awesome Upgrade for Any Car!
I honestly didn’t expect much from a HUD at this price, but the KUOWEIHUD completely surprised me. Setup was literally plug-and-play—I plugged it into my car’s USB port and it turned on instantly. No apps, no complicated menus, nothing. The large digital display is super easy to read, even in bright sunlight, and the automatic brightness adjustment works perfectly. It brightens during the day and softens at night so it’s never distracting. I love that I can keep my eyes on the road instead of glancing down at my dashboard all the time. The GPS is very accurate and connects quickly thanks to the dual GPS+BDS chip. The speed updates smoothly with no lag, which gives me a lot more confidence when I’m driving in areas with strict speed limits. One of my favorite parts is that it works with any car—new, old, truck, motorcycle—doesn’t matter. It also turns on and off automatically with the car, so I don’t have to think about it.For the price, this is honestly one of the best little upgrades I’ve added to my car. If your speedometer is hard to see or you just want a safer, more modern driving experience, this HUD is totally worth it!

    Straightforward and functional – love!
Really easy to set up and very functional! The numbers are easily readable in all light levels, and not too bright at night. I love the simple design and navigation, and I love that you can control whether the device makes noise or not. There is a setting that will make the device beep repeatedly if you hit or surpass a certain speed, and the default value is 75mph. This is a nuisance on road trips when on interstates that have speed limits of 80mph, so it was helpful to find out that I could edit the speed it checks for or even turn off checking for a certain speed. When you hit the designated speed, it will beep several times and then stop beeping, but the numbers will flash as long as you’re at or over that speed. When you hit the speed again (either coming down or going up), it will beep several times again. This is nice as an audio indicator of your speed if you like that, and would be good for situations like a teen learning to drive. The default speed accuracy was off by about 2mph (over my actual speed), which you can easily adjust in a setting on the device to get a perfectly accurate speed reading. This connected to GPS very quickly and easily for me once I plugged it in. For reference, I live within city limits of a medium size city and within range of multiple cell towers. Connectivity and connection time can vary depending on your location. This doesn’t connect if my car is in a structure like a parking garage, but will connect shortly after leaving the garage.Overall, this is a wonderful value. I’m very happy with this purchase! It would be nice if it was wireless and powered by solar (since it already sits on the dash), but I’m happy with it as-is.

Clear display and easy to use HUD
This head-up display was really easy to get up and running—just plugged it in via USB and it worked right away. The big, clear font makes it so easy to read even during the day, and I find the automatic brightness adjustment very helpful at night. I especially like the screen hood design because it cuts down on glare and makes the speed display much easier to see. The GPS speed reading is spot-on and updates smoothly, which is great. Overall, it’s a simple yet really useful gadget that makes driving more comfortable and safer.

Great little gadget for new drivers
I’m a new driver and this HUD display has been really helpful. It was super easy to set up — just plug it in and it works right away. The numbers are big, bright, and easy to read, and the build quality feels solid for the price. The brightness adjusts automatically, and the speed reading is pretty accurate. It can be a bit hard to see in very bright sunlight, but overall it’s well-made, easy to use, and a great value for money.

    Nice gadget
My speedometer started malfunction, and this was an inexpensive solution.Works great, just a couple issues: hard to see through polarized sunglasses and not working in tunnels, obviously.

Decent not liking the reflective sticker that looks bad from the outside
Bright display even during the day, having drove at night yet. Plug and play so it’s easy to use. Only downside for me is the sticker that is kinda needed for the windshield for helping reflecting the numbers to the driver. Decent size. Functional with one button. Found signal in 10 seconds first time turning on. Adjustment easy to do.

    Useful little tool
This heads-up speedometer works really well. I mainly use it because there are a lot of speed cameras in my area, and I don’t want to constantly look down at my dashboard to check my speed. Having the speed displayed at eye level makes driving feel safer and more convenient. In terms of accuracy, it’s typically within +/- 2 mph of my car’s built-in speedometer, which is more than accurate enough for everyday driving. I was using it while it was raining. Also, mine only had mph, you cannot change to km/h.The only thing I would improve is the wire placement. The cable currently faces toward the windshield, which makes the setup a little less clean than it could be. It would be much better if the wire faced toward the driver instead.Overall, I’m very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone who wants an easy way to monitor their speed without taking their eyes off the road.

  8. derekb

I don’t usually leave reviews but this K1 unit really deserves a good one. No more eyes leaving the road to make sure my speed hasn’t crept too high, particularly in the 20mph zones. It’s accurate, very easy to install with a super-long USB cable, enough to route it unobtrusively and I don’t need to stick the supplied reflector on the windscreen as the number is totally readable without it. I rarely drive at night so haven’t experienced that as yet. This little thing has literally transformed my driving experience and I’m delighted with it, I just wish I’d learned about them before they were mentioned on a driver awareness course.

  9. Amazon Customer

Very quality product. It takes some time to initiate when you connect for the first time. But overall quality and working is excellent. I am very happy with the display. Very useful while driving on expressways where there is ceiling on the maximum speed allowed. The display is bright during daytime

  10. Taha Iqbal

It’s pretty useless and isn’t customisable. The listing doesn’t accurately describe the product.Waste of money.

  11. Mac

Completely misleading , only tracks MPH as off by abit doesn’t track in KMPH which is what I need in my country

  12. Jadz

Can i even switch the mph to kph with this thing? I really like it but if its gonna say mph then i would still look on my dash for my actual speed
