    Intuitive, easy, complete navigation
My truck got broken into and was stolen after owning a year, I immediately ordered a replacement .Ive used a lot of different GPS systems over the years on aircraft, boats, motorcycles and cars. This is a great all around on road gps for everyday traveling, commuting and long road trips. Even works good for gravel roads, logging roads etc. You can’t go wrong with this model.Easy to update, live traffic is accurate, routes, directions are easy to follow. Easy to divert course to gas stations, restaurants, rest areas, shopping, parks, points of interest, and many other things.Easy to get right back on route after taking a pit stop.I compare live traffic updates to Waze and get very similar results. Because my work is in heavy traffic everyday, and my wife or kids want to use the Garmin I usually use Waze. If I had to complain about this gps it would be that current locations of hidden police speed traps are not marked. I do like that Waze feature. Something Garmin should incorporate. It has common Garmin operating system but this one is a little more connected, a little more intuitive, a little more thorough and costs a little less. At least compared to any older models. Also, a good size for car windshields. We use it in a Ford Fiesta, For Taurus Wagon, and a Toyota Tundra. Works great in all.Touchscreen works great, like a modern phone and voice recognition works well, even over road noise. The power supply has a extra usb port and a axillary music plug to stream music from your phone into a older car’s auxiliary port in its audio system. Not much need for it in a modern car but pretty awesome in our 2012 Fiesta and 2008 Tundra. Our 2004 Taurus lacks a auxiliary input 😭Used to use it on my road bike (sold the bike) and for a while on the dirt bike (replaced it with the Garmin Tread). Worked great on the road bike and pretty good on the dirt bike but for obvious reasons didn’t want to expose it to rain, mud and crashes. As far as navigation, it works almost everywhere there is some kind of a road. Gives immediate coordinates and nearest hospital and gas for emergency’s. (Dirt bikes have emergencies now and then)For the price, it’s hard to beat. It gets transferred to a lot of our vehicles regularly. Makes us wish we had one in every vehicle. Sick of the entire family fighting to use it.Lastly, waypoints I saved on other Garmin GPS’s over 10 years ago, seamlessly transferred over to this device, and any waypoint I save on this or any other Garmin I have transfers over. No information or waypoints are lost. Just update it now and then and all is saved and stored for future devices.Back to the beginning, I no longer save “HOME” as my address as the thieves that stole my last one technically know where I live now. Something to think about. Use your bosses/ex’es, mortal enemies, address’s for “HOME” instead.

    Wonderful GPS that you’ll enjoy
Nice GPS that has semi-annual updates which can be done over wifi or using Garmin Express on your PC. Fast updates of your driving map unlike my old TomTom I had which would get confused and lock up at times. I only wish the “speeding alarm” was a bit louder though the speed limit change warning is loud enough. It locks onto the satellites quickly and does multiple stops along a trip well.

Refurbished Garmin DriveSmart 66 6-inch screen is a great product and value!
I bought this refurbished Garmin product in January 2024 for a road trip that got canceled. We used it for the first time this week (April 2024) for a short drive to another city just to practice with our new Garmin DriveSmart 66 device. Before I go any further, I should tell you that we still have and use the Garmin Nüvi 1370 that we purchased in April 2011. Yes, it is 13 years old and it works just fine. Granted, it’s slower, like me, but it keeps trucking alone. In my mind, the Garmin Nüvi 1370 is a testament to the quality of Garmin’s products. So, all the comparisons here are to our 13-year-old Garmin Nüvi device. The new Garmin DriveSmart 66 is more expansive, brighter, and more precise. It has more screen details, updates faster as we drive, syncs very quickly with the GPS satellites, and works beautifully with the Garmin portable friction mount we bought at the same time. The crisp, clear widescreen automatically switches to the split-screen mode when it shows upcoming exit ramps and lane information. I have not explored all of the SmartDrive’s features yet, but I will update this review as I gain more experience with the device and its features, especially its Wi-Fi features.Yes, I can use my iPhone or iPad maps to guide me to locations. (And I would if my 2017 Subaru Outback had Apple Car Play.) Still, I enjoy using Garmin’s GPS navigator products, especially when I can buy refurbished Garmin products that are as good as brand new at a more affordable cost.As always, I appreciate those of you who take the time to leave honest, thoughtful product evaluations because I use those genuine reviews to make purchase decisions. I hope my comments here are helpful if you are considering a Garmin DriveSmart 66 GPS.

    Perfect for older vehicles
Bought 2 of them (refurbished) both work excellent but one will not take updates to maps. Phone connection is great nice when driving older vehicles without Bluetooth. Would give 5 stars but one has issue with updates over wifi
