Step-by-step use of a fire blanket to extinguish a small fireStep-by-step use of a fire blanket to extinguish a small fire

What types of fires can this fire blanket be used on?

This fire blanket is designed to smother small fires by cutting off oxygen. It can be used on fires in the kitchen, electrical fires from appliances or tools, textile fires such as clothing or curtains, and small fires in cars or during camping.

How does a fire blanket work?

The blanket works by covering the fire and blocking the oxygen supply that flames need to continue burning. Once the fire is deprived of oxygen, it is quickly suppressed without the use of chemicals or water.

Is this better than a fire extinguisher?

A fire blanket serves a different purpose. It is easier to use for small fires, does not leave behind any residue, and does not require maintenance or pressure checks. It is especially useful in kitchens or areas where a clean solution is preferred.

What makes this fire blanket higher quality than others?

This blanket is made with 500 GSM and 0.5 mm thick fiberglass, which is thicker than most standard options. It is also tested to withstand temperatures up to 1500°F, offering higher heat resistance compared to many alternatives on the market.

    Impressed with the quality!
I was looking for an easy way to stay safe in case of emergencies for when I’m camping when I came across this fire blanket. It’s made from high-quality materials and is designed to quickly smother flames, so you can put out a fire before it gets out of control. One of the things I love about this fire blanket is that it comes with a hook to hang it on the wall. That way, I can easily access it in case of an emergency. I plan on keeping one in my RV, in my Can Am, and in my kitchen at home, just in case.

    Like an insurance policy.
I haven’t used these yet, and hope I never need to. But these are like an insurance policy…you don’t know if you get what you are paying for until you have to use it, which you pray you never will do. The blanket comes in a case with a hanger. It is there now, hanging on my kitchen wall, and I pray I’ll never need it. I bought one for my grill area as well.

    Best fire blanket, bar none
I put the Supa Ant fire blanket to the test by hitting it with a propane torch for over 4 minutes, repeating 6 times. Not only does it surpass the Fire Industry Association (BS EN 1869:1997) temperature isolation specification of 1,076°F, this blanket can handle more than 1,500°F — more than any other blanket I tested. That includes Inf-way (which failed at 1,300°F on average), Tonyko (1,310°F), and top-rated JJ Care (1,320°F). For it’s added thickness, this blanket is also extremely pliable, making it very effective for suffocating a fire. JJ Care was the stiffest blanket tested. The company stands behind their motto, “Because We Care,” and is passionate about protecting both their customers and the planet via their trust-based initiative. Unlike other manufacturers who claim their products have an indefinite shelf, they acknowledge the age-based limitations of silicone-based retardants. Accordingly, if you have a Supa Ant fire blanket that is more than 5 years old, they will arrange a subsidized replacement for you upon request. In the event of emergency use of the blanket that results in compromise of the fabric, they will arrange a free replacement. In both cases, to further their eco-friendly mission, they’ll coordinate with you to ship the retired blanket(s) to their Florida facility for recycling. I don’t know that I’ve ever come across a company that stands behind their product as much as Supa Ant, and give them my top recommendation. If you’re looking for blankets in larger sizes, I suggest going with Tonyko. Their blanket is slightly more pliable than Supa Ant due to it’s thinner fabric, and comes in 6 different sizes up to 78″ x 78″, the largest residential blanket I’m aware of.

Should do the job, but trouble hanging it
Looks like these should work, but I was disappointed about the hanger. First, there was only one for four blankets. And when I hung it on the wall, the adhesive literally ripped apart, leaving sticky stuff on the wall (only part of it ripped off, but evidently the remainder wasn’t strong enough to stay up). So although it seemed to stick ok, the adhesive isn’t strong enough to maintain its integrity. These aren’t things you want to test — they are made of fiberglass, and although they look like the glass is tightly packed, you can always get free glass fibers. Certainly preferable to a fire, but I guess I won’t really know if it works until I need it. As I said, it looks like it should do the trick. Hope I never have to find out for sure.

Every home should have at least one of these.
I ordered a number of different makes of these and this one is the best by far.It feels well made, comes in a quality case and the tabs would make it easy to pull out and use in an emergency.I have these as gifts last Christmas. It’s one of those things you hope you never use, but if you ever do need it, it’ll be the best gift you were ever given!Have one in the kitchen, by the barbecue or even a small fire pit.

I hope I never get have yo use it, however, I bought a package of five. One for the home and car and three others for family members. I tried pulling on the tabs to see how quickly the planket would come out and one of the tabs ripped. I’m disappointed. It comes with a strong hanging hook. The hook is sitting inside each of the bags in case you thought you didn’t receive them as I did at first.
