Great phone mount
This phone mount is great! I’ve learned the hard way to keep my distance from the sticky mounts, they leave a terrible residue when they come off, which happens when’s it’s hot outside. The clamp is very sturdy, and it can go in many different spots. Took about 20 seconds to install. The button on the clamp that pushes down when the phone is on there works every time. Great product

Works as Advertised if not the Perfect Solution
This was one of the holders Amazon said had fewer complaints than others. It is sturdy. It has a strong clip and holds a phone in position well. The ring grip helps open the strong spring. The spring-loaded phone holder is an interesting design. Squeeze the two side bars to easily open the clamps. The clamps snap closed on the phone when you press the phone against the silver button at back of the holder. The arm swivels through maybe 10 discrete positions. It’s not infinitely adjustable, and it’s a bit difficult. The maximum clamp opening is 2 inches like most of its competition. Some dashboards are thicker than that. It also comes with a vent clamp if you choose. The clamp open and close mechanism takes 2 hands to open, and you need 1 hand to catch your phone when released. As a review noted, you don’t have to look down to see your screen. But it’s right in the center of your view on your dash as to be a bit of a distraction. Clamping to your rearview mirror may eventually break off your mirror. But I didn’t want a stick-on dash mount that would come loose in summer heat. I didn’t want the A/C vent mount blocking my cold air in summer. I haven’t tried the sun visor location. Car companies on the lookout for new gadgets should consider a standardized mount in the center of their dashboards that would hold a standard phone mount. FOLLOWUP: Some observations after 2-3 weeks experience – My Ford Explorer instrument cluster hood is probably thicker than product’s stated maximum of 2 inches, but the clamp’s rubber pads hold tight. But it does want to squeeze itself off the hood when I try to position it at the far left and right. The photo shows where it manages to hold on the left side, which keeps it mostly out of my field of vision. It was annoying when placed directly above center on the instrument cluster where my eyes don’t know where to focus. I keep the extendable arm as compressed as possible and keep the phone as low in the phone holder as possible, and the result seems very stable, and I’m also able to adjust the joints to face me directly. Definitely better that blocking my air conditioner vent.

Finally one that stays put!
I have purchased lot of different car phone holders but this has by far been my best purchase! The clip locks onto my dashboard perfectly and allows me to see my phone without having to look down or to the side. All phones fit in the holder and it doesn’t fall off even on these terrible roads! Priced right and seems to be high quality. The best part is there is no sticky residue on my dash or window. No regrets so far.
