Easy Wireless CarPlay Upgrade
I use this in my Porsche GT4 and it works really well. Setup was simple, just plug it in and it connects automatically after the initial pairing.It’s great not having to plug the phone in every time I get in the car. CarPlay launches quickly and stays connected reliably while driving. The wireless connection has been stable and the interface responds just like the wired version.Overall, a really convenient upgrade if your car only has wired CarPlay and you want a wireless experience.

Broke quickly , no support
Do not buy. Worked fine for a month, then quit. Too late to return to Amazon. Manufacturers website will not provide support if it wasn’t purchased directly from them; they refer you back to Amazon. Amazon won’t support it; they refer you back to the manufacturer. A waste of money. Not recommended.After I posted this, the manufacturer reached out to me, but they kept asking for more information that they already had. No real help. Bought a different unit that works with no trouble.

This unit is able to translate Android Auto to Carplay only car.
Confirm this unit works with Porsche Macan that only supports Apple Carplay. I’m able to connect my Android phone to the unit, and it “translates” to Carplay only head unit.Giving this only 4-star because the display is a bit off with the touch screen, thus sometimes you’ll get the wrong item even if you’re sure you touch the right icon, especially annoying with the on screen keyboard.

Couldn’t believe how easy it was!
I got this for my 2020 Sienna which only has wired car play, and no android auto. The native navigation had been discontinued so I really wanted to find a way to get android auto.I bought this after reading a few reviews and wasn’t sure what to expect. I plugged this into my car and within literally 2 minutes, I was able to sync my android auto to it flawlessly. I have it set up to auto connect to my phone wirelessly when I start the car and it even works with all of my car buttons! When I press the map button on my console, Google maps pops up, and when I use my push to talk button it launches the Google voice assistant. It works exactly the same as the native android auto we have in our other vehicle. I’m extremely happy with it! I’m so glad I found this.

Works most of the time, but for some reason disconnects in the same spots on my regular commute route, almost as though there is interference in that area? A previous product I used (different brand) never did this. Reliable about 75% of the time.

This thing is just what my ’16 silverado needed. My truck has wired apple carplay only (no android auto at all). With this little box I’m able to run wireless android auto through my truck’s wired carplay input. I was surprised that even the steering wheel buttons work to control volume, track, and activate google assistant.The only downside is every once in a while it won’t recognize the device and I have to unplug it and plug it back in. It’s a minor inconvenience but I’ll take it to have andoid auto in my truck.

Worked As Advertised!!!!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is literally my first time writing a review on a product. I have a 2023 Porsche Box 718 and it does not support Android Auto. I saw this product and I was very skeptic that it would even work. I needed a solution to my car to support Android Auto. Well I must say I was pleasantly surprised that it just worked as advertised. I plugged it to my USB port and Voila, my car was now supporting Android Auto. The whole setup took less than 5 minutes. Now a little disclaimer. I just got it and I cannot tell you about the longevity of the product, but for now I am a happy camper.

Absolutely do not buy this through Amazon. Carlink will supply absolutely no support or exchanges if you don’t buy directly from them. Even though they seem to have an Amazon store it is not their selling platform. The product works fine but if you need help or if it gives you trouble you are on your own. Amazon will give you the thirty day return but that’s it.

This adapter works really well and has made my drives much more convenient! My car only supports CarPlay, but this device allows me to use Android Auto without any issues. Works well at “tricking” vehicles that only have CarPlay to run Android Auto. It’s not perfect but at least now I can have good maps and other features from my display console. This is my second unit as the first one became glitchy after a couple of years. Reading reviews from other sources, this is likely due to our cold Canadian winters and blazing hot summers. I’d rather re-purchase this unit then suffer the cost of replacing the head unit.

Used this to wirelessly connect to our 2016 Honda CR-V Apple Carplay. This device allows Android Auto and Apple Carplay to connect wirelessly to the car’s original head unit which is amazing. We followed a Youtube video on how to flash the car’s head unit to add Apple Carplay and with this device, both Apple Carplay AND Android auto can be connected wirelessly. The device remembers at least two previously connected phones in its history for easy connection. On car startup, it will automatically connect to the last device but there’s a screen where you can quickly switch it to the desired device before it connects to the last device.We noticed for Apple devices, there is a little bit of lag compared to Android Auto. But overall, the lag on both Android Auto and Apple Carplay does not impact the usability of the maps. Also a quick hint if you are following the Youtube video on flashing your head unit. You will want to remove the GPS wire like in the video, because Apple Carplay uses the car GPS speed data instead of your phone’s when connected wirelessly. In Waze this becomes a problem because our car speed unit is MPH but in Waze we are using KM. It does a double conversion and causes Waze to announce inaccurate speed in Apple Carplay.Overall, we are very happy with the CarlinKit 4.0 since it allows us to extend the usage of the car’s original head unit without spending a ton of money to replace it.

Despite what is being advertised, if your intentions are to use Android auto from your phone with a car that only has Apple car play, it doesn’t work well at all. I am using Android phone lg v60 with with Toyota Prius prime 2020 which only has Apple car play. Significant lag , drops sound constantly, YouTube music glitches as if you were playing old CDs that skip. Also significant lag with navigation apps like Waze or Google maps.In summary it kinda works as long as you can stomach those constant annoying things.
