Absolutely subpar lighting with all plastic lines
Do not purchase this unless your expectations are lower than a sailor on shore leave. The light coursing through the holder seemed fine in the test but as soon as you start causing it to curve or bend, it drops drastically. I got it installed around my instrument cluster after much effort, including trimming the flap that holds it in place so it would successfully curve to the lines in my dash. But after about 18 inches, the light had diminished so much, it would only be barely visible, even at night. Since I’ve cut parts of it to fit, I’m obviously keeping it and I’m disappointed but the old adage of “you get what you pay for” is definitely in play here. If you are using it for short straight lines, then you’re probably fine. If you want to actually light up your console and dash, not likely.I’ll probably use it in the back hatch of my vehicle or for interior running boards since the doorways ways are less than two feet long each but I’ll be looking for something actually fiber optic and not a plastic version.You have been warned.
