I’m really happy with this 8.1-inch CarPlay display. The screen size feels just right, big and clear without getting in the way of the dashboard. Apple CarPlay connects almost instantly and stays connected the whole time. I haven’t experienced any lag or random disconnects, and the touch response is smooth and accurate. The built-in dashcam is honestly a great extra. The video quality is clear and sharp, both during the day and at night, and it records reliably without skipping or missing clips. Playback is smooth, and the audio and video stay perfectly in sync. It also protects the footage when the g-sensor goes something unusual. Overall, the connectivity is solid. The Best “Mid-Size” Tech Upgrade for Older Cars (8.1″ Is Perfect)
I installed this 8.1-inch portable CarPlay unit in my older vehicle because I wanted modern navigation and safety features without the headache (or cost) of ripping out my factory dashboard. After using it for a few days, it’s easily the best $100-ish I’ve spent on my car.The Screen:The 8.1-inch size is the real winner here. 7-inch screens feel a bit cramped for maps, and 10-inch tablets can block too much of the windshield. This hits the sweet spot—large enough to see clearly at a glance, but slim enough to stay out of the way. The IPS display is surprisingly bright, even in direct sunlight.Performance & Cameras:CarPlay/Android Auto: It connects wirelessly in about 10–15 seconds from the moment I start the car. No lag when switching between Spotify and Google Maps.Dual Dash Cams: The 2K front camera is sharp enough to read license plates, which is a huge relief for insurance peace of mind. The 1080P backup camera trigger is instant when I shift into reverse.Audio: I use the Dual Bluetooth setup—my phone sends the “image” to the screen but keeps the “audio” connected to my car’s original Bluetooth. This means zero loss in sound quality.The Setup:Installation took me about 20 minutes. Most of that time was just tucking the wires into the weather stripping to keep the dash looking clean. Excellent Camera Quality
I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how smooth and responsive this 8.1” CarPlay screen is. Wireless CarPlay connects quickly and stays stable, and the touch response feels precise with no noticeable lag. The dash cam quality is sharp enough to clearly read license plates, and the backup camera has a wide, useful view. Due to the aspect ratio of the screen, you could move up and down to see the higher or lower side of the backup picture. I also like that it works well through AUX without introducing noise. Setup was straightforward, and it integrates nicely without feeling like a cheap add-on.

Power didn’t turn on long enough for it to work it just kept turning on and off almost like it was stuck in on off position not a good problem not being able to use it so not recommended
