If it doesn’t fit your 96 Dakota or whatever, sorry there is no way to make a universal bracket for every vehicle made and we didn’t want to drill holes so we bought this. Seems like a good quality bracket. Hardware and powder coating looks nice. The 2 large bolts adjust the opening width to clamp the bracket and the 2 set screws underneath drive a steel plate upwards to lock in place. There is a rubber pad on the top piece for say engaging the top of a hood, however the bottom plate is bare steel so there will likely be paint damage underneath. But at least it is not just set screws with no plate like some of the others I looked at. I plan on coating the bottom plate with rubber to add grip and mitigate damage on a leased truck. I would triple check the thickness of your light bracket as if it is very thin the mounting bolt could potentially drive through and damage the surface you are trying to protect. Also would recommend thread lock compound of at least blue medium or even orange high strength removable. Looking forward to getting these on the road.

These hood mounts showed up safe and sound well packaged. I was blown away by the quality and the precision of these mounts. They are compact low profile and do the job quite well.The photos on Amazon’s website do do it justice, but when you see them in real it’s wow!Easy to function a simple to mount. It gets a really great grip on the hood without hurting it. I tried one just as a trial fit first and was not let down it worked perfectly.I highly recommend these mounts if you’re looking for something simple that’s got no other solutions for a mounting system.
