Ok, I didnt read the instructions but it worked anyway!
Quick Summary – Worked well straight out of the box. I did not read the instructions. Your mileage may vary, The user manual has many pages of small print, in english, dedicated to helping you resolve any issues. I did not try Apple Carplay options. This is the dual mode edition of this adapter.The Backstory – Honda CRV 2020 with cabled AndroidPlay and Apple CarPlayh.My cabled Android Play stopped about three weeks ago! The cable still worked with my wifes iPhone Carplay app! So a bad cable seems to have been a perfectly good but wrong solution.So I looked through the adapter listings for the best one and purchased it. Then I let it sit on my desk for 10+ days until it was covered with the usual desk detritus. I find that this helps the devices to have a favorable attitude during startup.So I found my good magnifying glass (old guy eyes) and headed out to the car. With the manual unread and Since this was not my first rodeo, I went to the bluetooth settings screen on my phone and spotted the new SmartBox-7588 listing and connected it to the phone list.I noticed that the car entertainment screen was asking questions and I selected the AndroidAuto option. A few moments later the AndroidAuto screen came up! I have likely forgoten some minor details.RESULTS:1.Start the car with or without a bluetooth earpiece operating. The earpiece is automatically turned off.2. After a few moment the car menu pops up, followed by the AndroidAuto selection becomes enabled3. AndroidAuto automatically launches!4. All the usual applications operate normally without any lag.5. When you leave the car, the earpiece is reconnected to bluetooth.This is an extremely competent piece of kit and has rescued me from my wife’s poorly curated plays lists.

Need wireless apple carplay and android auto
No here’s something for all my andriod auto and apple carplay users so if your like me and you love using your phone from your cars infotainment then this adapter is for you. Now this will only work if your car has wired apple carplay or wired android auto and what this adapter does it make it so that your wired now becomes wireless. So easy to connect simple and direct instructions.Now please be advised that if your car’s infotainment doesn’t have apple carplay or android auto this will not work because it doesn’t give you apple carplay or android auto but however converts wired apple carplay and android auto to wireless connection via Bluetooth. So if you are looking for a product like that then look No further. Design is small once you’ve plugged in the device you’ll hardly even recognize its even inside the vehicle. Works like a charm quick connection and a very durable feel in the hand.

Great for Honda 2021 CR-V
Works great in my 2021 Honda CRV. Before via USB, the CarPlay connection left a lot to be desired. Too often it was dropped. Has yet to drop since I installed this, which took about a minute or 2.
