Radio Operation: If there is a DISC in the CD player, press CD/DISC button 1 time is CD mode, press 2 times to play USB, RPT switch to AUX, RDM switch to USB, CD key switch back to CD (if no disc in it only can be switched by RDM button to the USB mode);
Bluetooth use: If USB is connected before the car starts, Bluetooth needs to be manually connected, but Bluetooth phone can be answered normally under USB and AUX connection. If Bluetooth music is needed, you need to cut off USB and AUX first, and then reconnect Bluetooth; Please note: When using Bluetooth to answer a phone, some mobile phones may need to choose to use speakers, otherwise they will be preferred.

Magic. I love this thing.
I opted to purchase a returned unit for my 2006 Highlander, to save a little money. What I received looked like new.The install was easy, thanks to videos on YouTube. The only glitch is that the connector was very, very tight in the socket on the back of the deck. In fact, it’s so tight that I don’t think that I was able to fully seat it. I let it go as good enough because it worked, and the alternative was to remove the entire audio deck to look closely at what was going on. I was anxious to finish, and I figured the connector was so tight that it would not pop out. If it does I can easily dive in again – it’s easy enough. The install of the mic on the window post was easy and effective.Performance: Great! – so much better than having a single CD player and a wobbly cassette deck. All sources work well, including Bluetooth, USB thumb drive and Aux cable. Controls work from the steering wheel and the deck. For the thumb drive I can index forward and back through folders using the deck controls, and through tracks using the track control on the deck or steering wheel.Bluetooth operation is easy to set up and it reconnects automatically. Incoming calls on Bt interrupt the music and are easily answered or ignored. The other party in the phone says I come through loud and clear. By keeping the phone volume up the deck volume is reasonable and does not blast me out when I switch to radio.I use Bt almost exclusively, so I’m a bit shaky about how to switch between it and USB or Aux.One thing I haven’t tried is playing through Aux while charging the phone. If there is a grounding problem it may show up then. But I may never do that, because I can’t access the phone through the deck controls when using Aux in. One other challenge for me is enabling hands free dialing with my old Android phone. I haven’t tried all the possibilities there.Bottom line: I love this thing. Very happy.Update, Oct 2022:Everything still works as when new, with a few new discoveries. First, the phone connects to the Bt shortly after turning on the car key, even if the deck is not switched on – a surprise. And it stays connected even if I have not selected CD/1, the mode on the deck to play the Bt source. In those situations, if I were to receive a call I don’t believe I would get any notification, because the phone would be outputting to the Bt that is not connected to the deck amp and speakers. So if I don’t want to listen to the phone over Bt, but I want to receive calls, I have to turn off Bt on my phone and take calls on the phone, i.e. not hands free.Consequently, almost always, I listen to music from my phone played over Bt to my car deck. I was pleased to learn that, if my music/podcast app is on pause when I get into the car, then I can resume play by using the track controls on my steering wheel. I don’t need to open my phone. I can have the phone dial up a contact from my address book by using voice command.Mine is a 3 year old Android phone running under OS version 8. A newer phone might have even more control capabilities.Bottom line: I am still very pleased with this setup.

Lexus rx330 2006
I have a stock 2006 lexus rx330. This was extremely easy to install. I wanted to keep my system stock because i like the lexus simplicity. The stereo system still sounds great and works extremely well. The steering wheel buttons were compatible. Besides- i hate modern car screens! The bluetooth system works and sounds great with extremely clean phone calls. The microphone that came with it works well. No need to switch to a more expensive mic. My friend was stoked and ordered one for her car. No need for the ridiculous giant apple car plays, etc. This does the exact same thing! But costs way less and you can keep your system factory. —–3 months later: It is still working well. 98% of the time it beeps on when I start the car. But every once in a while I have to reconnect my bluetooth on my phone if I was using my phone before I started the car.

Overall is good, but randomly disconnects from time to time
Sound quality is really good. Is small and sturdy so I hid this under my shift-stick and so I don’t really see it ever. The mic works well and I don’t use the usb port or the aux input so I can’t really say anything about it. Signal is strong but it cuts off randomly and can only reconnect by restarting the engine and this is my only complaint about it. The piece that clips to the radio broke and now it’ll be harder to unlock, but honestly, I won’t even unplug this so it doesn’t really matter, so now you know is a cheap plastic connector. Overall I think is the best solution to enhance the audio experience in your old ass car if you want to keep the original look and don’t wanna go for a fancy display radio replacement which it’ll probably cost 35 times more.

Incredible improvement for 2006 Tacoma!
I put this upgrade of for years and suffered through the FM transmitter getting walked on by actual stations and having generally poor sound quality.My last FM transmitter died just before a cross country road trip so I figured now was the time.This was so easy to install I kicked myself repeatedly for not doing it sooner!I’ve got a 2006 Tacoma and just zip tied it to the front of the crash bar that runs behind the dash. (if you mount it to the aft off the bar the radio won’t fit.)I saw reviews that the steering wheel controls wouldn’t work for my truck but that was false! I have full functionality too skip forward and back!Sound quality is great and once I paired my phone I haven’t had any signal drop or issues with the phone connecting.I ran the microphone behind the dash, up the support beam and through the head liner so it covered out next to the map lights and it works great. Haven’t had any complaints when I’m on the phone except when I was above 80mph on the highway, and my truck is a bit loud underway.I highly recommend this purchase!

Less quality sound and constant disconnect
I bought this for my 06 Toyota Avalon the first month of me owning it. The fm transmitter was a pain and the static annoying. Someone suggested this so I have it a shot. Install was easy. I did feel that when plugging it in the socket was very tight and didn’t feel like it was seated all the way but it went as far in as it wanted. Within the first week I noticed it would randomly disconnect from the car and blast music from FM and I’d have to turn the car off and back on to get it to restart the Bluetooth. I also noticed when using it the audio quality goes down. The bass from the speakers doesn’t hit as hard as it does with the regular radio or the fm transmitter itself. It’s more quiet. I’m grateful for the Bluetooth ability but can’t wait to just swap the head unit.
