I bought this adapter because I was tired of plugging in my phone every time I got in the car and honestly, it exceeded my expectations. It needed an update when I first installed it (picture was way zoomed out). It’s not the easiest thing to update for the normal weekend warrior, but the instructions are clear enough. Once updated, it seems to work well.I don’t notice any quality changes. Slight delay on sound, but that’s expected and not really a big deal for music. It does work for z link (android head unit app) if anyone is wondering.It takes about 10-15 seconds longer to connect to the display, as opposed to the cord.It really is quite tiny and attractive. It doesn’t look bad when out in the open. I hid mine, but that’s not necessary.Overall, I’m happy with my purchase.

Works Exactly As Desired & Described
I have a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek Ltd. It has CarPlay but having to use the USP cord was a nuisance. I bought this dongle as a “cord killer” and could not be happier with its operation. I had it working w/o looking at the directions in five minutes.I did look at the (SMALL FONT) directions later and saw where you can update the device. I did this, it worked perfectly and the result was increased effectiveness. No issues with the update at all if you follow the directions.Go for it!

Silent CarPlay… The Feature Nobody Asked For
Had it for two weeks. It connects about 4 out of 5 times, and even when it does, there’s usually no sound. I end up unplugging and replugging it just to make it work. At this point, I’m thinking I should’ve just stuck with the wired option.

It works…but with a caveat
If you’re the only driver then this is the perfect adapter. Here’s the caveat, the adapter connects easily to the last phone used, any other phone has to be paired every time. Once the second phone is paired then that phone becomes the primary phone until another phone is paired, and so on and so on. This doesn’t work for me because my wife also drives our car so when I drive I have to pair my phone again. Get it? Very inconvenient.
