Alright guys, here we go. Firstly regarding the wires that come with the lights, yes they are Thin and Short, but they also LIMIT the amount of current the lights can draw, for example, around 3watts using the small wires and potentially 6 to 10watts OR possibly more if using something like 20 or lower gauge wire.This would account for the lights getting abnormally Hot, thicker gauge wire means the likliness of the lights pulling more power, more power obviously meaning Brighter and more heat generation..So as mentioned in other reviews, a DIMMER is recommended, and or a heatsink.Hard mounting them when possible is preferred over using adhesiveSecondly, this applies to ALL Styles/Various wattages of these lights, not specifically from this seller but from all sellers of this style of light. Ive been buying this style for a number of years now so i knew what to expect from them.Hope this helps.

Insanely small wires and gets crazy hot, crazy fast. IDK what the hell these are safe to use for. You almost can’t strip the wires without breaking them. They are bright though LOL

These are like finally understanding that complicated conundrum!! What an epiphany!!
These little guys really put out some light!! I’m using them for my trunk, engine bay and adding courtesy lights to my doors. I put 4 under the hood on an illuminated push button switch and I can now see every nook and cranny in there at night time. I’mi put 1 for the trunk lip and figured one facing out would be nice, butttt I had to point both down because the one facing out was blinding!! For the courtesy lighting aspect, it really did the job. You’ll never drop something and not find it, or step on something or trip getting out at night anymore either because it really illuminates the area under the door.

Pros:As several before me have noted, these are nice and bright.Cons:As several before me have noted, these get hot in a short amount of time.As several before me have noted, the heat dislodges the adhesive.As several before me have noted, these have EXTREMLY SMALL WIRES!Can’t twist wire to tin the tips.Wire won’t fit into common terminations because it’s just too small and fragile.If you can’t crimp it and it won’t solder well – what other options are there??

Great slim bright lights
these slim light strips work well for under dash and other areas for RV and auto use. I’ve used many of these, and they work well and slim enough you barely see them, Oh, the light is very bright

Great for seedlings.
I bought these LED strip lights to mount to a piece of clear plastic. They are sticky on one side. I put them every inch or so on a piece of clear plastic. Then, I hang them over my new seedlings. Turn the light on using a twelve volt power supplie and they work great.
