Review and Installation for a Subaru Crosstrek
This is a pretty long review (with fotos) of the Bopuovre seat covers purchased from Amazon. I purchased just the bottom seat covers. No backs. I just wanted a bit more padding and also some protection for the original leather seats. The seat covers appear to be well made. With sufficient padding to make a bit of a difference. The stitching looks good. Colors are an ok match to my 2019 2.0i LTD gray leather interior. The underside of the cover has a grippy material that should (hopefully) prevent the seat from sliding. The instructions are pretty simple. Or they are pretty worthless. I had a fairly good idea of how these were supposed to be installed. I watched a couple videos. The installation for these particular covers is almost identical to the others sold on Amazon. Installation instructions are all on one page! With a couple illustrations. Not much text. But on the other side you get a fortune cookie message!I installed the passenger side first. It’s the easiest. Mostly because my passenger seat is not a power seat so it does not have an electrical motor under it. More on that later.Anyways I got the passenger side installed in easily under 10 minutes. The most difficult part is finding a place underneath the seat on to which you can attach the j-hooks.The lower back of both of my front seats has a carpeted panel. It covers some of the junk underneath the seat and makes the seat look more finished. It probably protects the seat from kicks and dirt from the shoes of the backseat passengers.I had read where some people have removed that carpet panel. Meh. I didn’t wanna do that. I discovered that when you send the “chuck”thru (ie underneath the upper seat back and the lower seat) that you can reach around the side of the carpeted panel and grab the “chuck”. So I did NOT remove that carpet panel. Not sure if yours has that feature. Mine is a 2019 2.0i Limited.Installation is easiest if the seat back is as vertical as possible. Obviously you can move the entire seat backwards/forwards to facilitate the installation. The slightly more difficult part is attaching the J-hooks onto something secure underneath the seat. Not a lot of options. And you can’t see anything so you will mostly be doing it by feel. You do NOT want to attach the J-hook to any of the electrical wires. Like the ones for the power seat or the heated seat module.Nevertheless I got the cover on and it looked ok. I used a plastic paint scraper to gently tuck the side fabric underneath the lower outboard plastic seat panel. This would be the panel that (at least on the drivers side) has the up/down electrical controls. Anyways if you gently….GENTLY….tuck the faux leather underneath the plastic it will look much nicer that just having it flap around. The plastic is somewhat flexible so you can gently pull it away from the seat and gently stuff the leather side panel underneath it. (See my photos) You can probably just push the upholstery faux leather underneath without even using the plastic scraper. I didn’t even use it for the drivers side. You do not have to pull the plastic out very far. Like less than a 1/4 inch.I knew the drivers side power seat would be more difficult. And it was. Putting the seat cover on and inserting the buckles is as easy as the passenger side seat. The problem occurs when you try to attach the J-hooks. My drivers seat has a small electrical motor underneath it. And also a heating module. But it is the motor which is the biggest issue. There is not a lot of space to put your hand underneath the seat. I needed a second person to help with this part. From the front I stretched the elastic strap with the J-hook as far as I could – and the space is limited. My assistant reached underneath the back side of the seat. Took her a while to find appropriate places to anchor the J-hooks. Could not have done it by myself. If you do not have power seats then the installation should be as easy as it was on the passenger side. How does it look? It looks ok. On a scale of 1 to 10. Ten would be absolutely perfect – like a custom upholstery job. I would give it a 8. The color match is pretty close. I doubt that your average passenger would never even notice that the seat bottom does not perfectly match the seat back.As you can see in the photo there is a crease down the middle of the seat cover. Ditto for the side panel….check out the photo of the side. The covers come folded in half to fit in the box. Hopefully the crease will disappear with time. How does the heated seat work? I have no idea. I live in Tucson, AZ. We generally do not need heated seats here. Air conditioned seats would be awesome but Subaru does not offer them.Is there enough padding in the seat covers to make a difference? Yeah I think so. My wife says that yes the passenger side feels significantly more comfortable. So far the cover does not slide, budge or move when getting in and out of the car. It will be interesting to see how they hold up over time. Kinda hard to tell right now. I mean they look like they are well made. Stitching and materials looks good. But who knows? Are they worth the purchase price? Yeah I think they are.Improvements? Sure. They could have added a third elastic strap which might have made it look a bit neater. See my photo. There is a small gap. Does it bother me? Meh no. I actually tried to shorten the elastic straps with a zip tie. Hoped that would eliminate the gap. Nope. Check out the photo with the “chuck” and the zip tie. Really didn’t make much difference. However a third strap would really be helpful. Almost worth adding one….assuming you have a sewing machine etc.Questions?Photos: a before shot of the drivers seat, some photos of the finished installation on both seats, pics of the installation “manual”, photo of where I got the pleather to fit underneath the plastic side panels on the lower seat, pics of the “chuck” and the underside of the seat cover. The photo of the underside of the cover does not do a very good job of illustrating the grippy surface.

The over all quality and craftsmanship is first class
These are the very best seat covers I have ever had. The installation was great and they fit the seats like they grew there. I have used many over the years but these are the best and more comfortable than the original seats. They are on a 2019 Ford edge which has fabric covers which have not held up well and stain easily. These covers make the car feel and look like new. The connecting system is creative and works fantastic and holds everything in place. I let them lay flat inside for a few days so they would warm up before installing them. Using a light and mirror for under the seat make connecting them very easy and helped to make sure the wiring was not compromised when connecting them.

Great Fit for 2010 Subaru Forester, Good Color Match to My Gray Interior
I bought these for my 2010 Subaru Forester X Limited. I bought the gray color to match my gray leather interior. The seat covers are a fantastic fit for my seats and the color match is almost perfect for my car. I did see in the reviews that some people wish the seat covers had hold-straps for the side of the seats. For my car, this isn’t an issue. You can tuck the bottom stitched edge of the side of the seat cover between the seat cushion and the molded plastic part of the seat. For me, the only issue is that the 2 seat covers come in a very small box (I’m sure to save money), so they fold the seat covers in half at the factory to fit them in this small box. This leaves a very deep crease right through the center of the seat cover that’s rather unsightly. You can see this crease in almost all of the customer images (including mine) in the reviews. I threw the seat covers in my dryer with some clean, damp clothing for about 15 minutes. This almost completely took the crease out. A clothing steamer would probably work too. So far, I’ve only been using them for a couple of days. They are very comfortable and don’t seem to shift around at all. I can’t speak to the durability, but they feel very substantial and high quality. PU leather usually doesn’t last that long, but for the price, I’m definitely happy with this purchase and would recommend them. Even if they only last a couple years, I’d still think they are a good value. I took off a star because of the crease. They should pack the seat covers in a wider, flat box so they don’t have to crease them in the center. I would have been willing to pay a couple extra bucks for the shipping.

    Above All Expectations
Good quality. Good fit. Durable. Five minute installation. Looks good. Installed in 2013 Tacoma.

  5. Clayton

Actually surprised with how good these areIll be buying another set if any other vehicles have ripped seat bases

  6. STL Cyclist

The seat covers fit very well and don’t move when installed on the grey leather seats of my 2010 Toyota RAV4 Limited. The grey colour matches well with the original seat and has extended the life of torn seats of my vehicle. You don’t notice that the seats have seat covers, visually or by feel when sitting on them. It looks like an original part of the seats.

  7. Daph Patk

Parfait! Tiennent bien en place et facile d’installation. Après un moment ils prennent une forme normale.

  8. zimo61

More than adequate; colour not quite a match but very comfortable, easy to install and it’s hiding the tear in my seat, preventing it from getting larger. I would recommend.

Je l’ai acheté pour protéger les sièges de ma GLC 300 et ça s’est parfaitement ajusté.
