Good concept, but impractical for daily drivers
I wanted to like the idea of an auto-retractable shade, but in practice, it just isn’t functional for a car that gets driven every day. The biggest issue is that the scrims (the mounting points) require clear access to the sun visors. I keep organizers on my visors, which made mounting this impossible without removing my gear.Even if you get it installed, the housing bar sits across the dashboard and creates a visual distraction. Taking the whole unit down and putting it back up every time you drive is far more hassle than a standard folding shade. It might work if you are parking a vehicle for months at a time, but for daily commuting, the installation is too fussy and the aesthetic is bulky.

Could be good for long-term storage of a car, but it doesn’t work for me for a car I’m driving regularly. The scrims need access to the visors, and I already have things on my visors. Leaving the big bar across the dash is a bit distracting, but it’s definitely worse to take the whole thing up and down to use. While testing out how it works, I also wound up snapping the plastic tab that slides to allow the width to adjust, so now I have two separate shades. That might work for a side window, but it would need another suction cup for that to work.

Love This Sun Shade
This retractable windshield shade is one of those products that just makes life easier. It installs quickly and retracts smoothly, so I don’t have to wrestle with folding or storing it.
