1. Your car must have wired Carplay functionality to use this adapter. Our product is designed to convert wired Carplay to wireless.
2. If you are unsure whether your vehicle model is compatible, please check with Amazon support.
3. Most smartphones can’t simultaneously maintain CarPlay (Wi-Fi based) and mobile hotspot due to being single-WiFi devices. This is a hardware limitation, not a product issue.
4. If there is no sound or music playback when connected to your car:
Open the product’s built-in interface. Go to Settings → Audio Streaming Mode. Adjust the audio mode to resolve the issue.

2021 Hyundai Santa Fe. I have been using it for 2 months. I’m surprised how seamlessly it operates.The CarPlay port is in the center console and has a lid similar to old car ashtrays. You can close it with this in the socket.It takes perhaps 5-10 seconds to connect to the car (not terribly different than if I plugged in the phone. Occasionally it takes a few seconds to connect to the phone after connecting to the car. After that it works perfectly (twice it glitched and I unplugged it and it worked fine). Only other issue is sometimes coming out of reverse the screen goes 1 step back from CarPlay but the music keeps working. Click and back inOn starting up the car will always go to CarPlay even if it had been on radio before, not an issue for me but might for some folks.It has been unaffected by temperature (at least cold, since I purchased it in the winter) -5 F was not been a problem.I can’t comment on the Android side but CarPlay works the same as wired.It basically acts like a factory install 95% of the time (the little issues above being the other time). I might have taken off 1/2 point but wouldn’t take off a full point for something that works so well

Affordable way to add reliable wireless CarPlay to a compatible head unit
This is perfect to add wireless CarPlay to a Boss Audio radio. Quick and easy setup I have tucked behind the dash.Only con for me is that I notice a small delay when skipping tracks that wasn’t there when plugged in directly.

Disappointed
This thing is a waste! It disconnects all the time. It’s loose and jiggles. I am constantly unplugging it and plugging it back in. My screen will go black. Just not worth it.

Forget music
Im biased. I’m guessing it’s a generic chip in there not of the highest quality it lags excessively when trying to play Amazon Music or Pandora or it doesn’t play at all very irritating. Perhaps it’s my Honda Accord perhaps it’s me, but I don’t think so. I ordered a more expensive brand with a QUALCOMM chip in it. I hope it doesn’t lag. I will be returning this after I receive the other one next Sunday the pluses it connects to Apple play just fine updating. It was a pain in the butt having to use a Safari browser and put in the DNS router code and then waiting 20 minutes for it to update. New technology is great but it should work great I give it a C minus I believe if they put a better chip in there, it doesn’t cause lag between the Apple phone and the car it would be really a great item.

I used the Minix CP-86 CarPlay dongle for a year (Aug ’24-Aug ’25) and suddenly it stopped working. I reached out to Minix via email and Alex Lui responded and was very helpful. Alex gave me the right answers and Wallah – it is working again! Note that when you attempt to connect your phone to the dongle, don’t expect to find CP-86 as a pairing option. My dongle had a red led. Needs to be blue to connect. 1) I reset my car system. 2) I shut off blutooth (My blutooth kept connecting my phone which could only play music and prevented me from connecting to CarPlay). 3) I reset the dongle (pin small hole in the top), 4) I then connected my iPhone to CAR-D470 as the internet connection.

I got the android auto version, and chose this dongle specifically for the 90deg adapter.Out the box the build quality of the dongle and the supplied adapters is nice and solid.Pairing was effortless following the included instructions. I was pairing a Samsung A series phone so a 2020 Suzuki.So far experience no lag on maps and music so very happy. Takes a few seconds to sink up when starting the car but not much of a notable difference to wired connection.No more forgetting my phone in the car for me. 🤣
