Product description

Abahub aluminum coating foam deadening material provides thermal insulation and sound dampening, which reduces the vibrations of the vehicle, rattling of loose metal parts and other outside elements including the wind, decreases road noise and helps reduce ambient noise for a quieter cabin environment.
Applying material to multiple areas of the vehicle is recommended for comprehensive sound reduction. Due to its multi-layer construction, applying it to the firewall isolates engine heat and noise.
We recommend that as a firewall insulation is best choice.
Key Benefits of Sound Deadening Mats:
Sound deadening mats for cars can have multiple uses. Not only they are good for sound isolation but also they keep the temperature cool/warm in the car. They are lightweight and designed for user-friendly installation.

Good for heat and noise
I have used similar to this before for a number of heat shielding and noise reduction applications. Mostly on RV’s on wheel wells, under the hood, on the “doghouse” of a van. If you are “hanging” it you might need to use some spray adhesive, like 3M. This time I have a Jeep Gran Cherokee with a the double sunroof, that is getting hot and making the ceiling hot even with everything closed up tight. It’s just too hot this year for using the sunroof even in New England. Cut it and slid it into the gap of the sunroof cover. Didn’t glue it, so it can be removed for winter, when I like the sun coming in. Really cut the heat!! Good stuff!

Works as expected, but a pain to work with
I used this insulation material along with butyl sound-deadening adhesive mats to insulate the interior of my vehicle. My goal was to reduce the drone of the exhaust.Overall, this insulation material, along with the butyl sound deadening, helped to reduce the interior droning noise. As other reviewers have stated, this insulation is very sticky. One thing that I did not like about this product is that the brown wax-like paper used to cover the adhesive until use was very finicky and did not come off cleanly. Often, when removing this paper just before installation, it would not come off uniformly and would tear randomly, leaving small remnants on the adhesive side of the insulation. I think that if a thicker or better-quality adhesive-protecting paper were used, it would improve the installation experience.

Definitely buy if you’re serious about insulation
This product is very well made and definitely high-quality. There is a kind of a string material laid into the aluminum backing which prevents it from overstretching and tearing. I found this to be very useful when installing considering I was walking on it and kneeling with my knees I never had an issue of tearing the glue is very strong so make sure you know where you’re putting it because you won’t be able to lift it up without destroying the foam. I use this to insulate a transmission tunnel and the entire floor of my vehicle there is absolutely zero heat radiating from my carpet now .The paper backing was hard to take off initially but I took the roll into my driveway and rolled it out completely paper side facing up in the Sun and 20 minutes later the glue was soft enough to easily peel the entire paperback off. So if you have issues peeling the paper just roll it flat and make sure you pull carefully because the the paper easily tears.

Boat motor is quieter.
Used for boat motor box insulation. Noticeably quieter.

sticks well
Make sure that you have this where you want it before sticking it down. It sticks well, but if you need to pull it off to reposition it, it will rip and leave part of the mat. It does stick very well, so hopefully I will never have to remove it, otherwise it will be a big mess. I haven’t run the engine yet to see if the noise level is reduced, but hopefully it will lower it.

Great material. Works as advertised.
I used it for sound reduction and rodent deterrent under the hood of my SUV. Worked great. Replacing the wood fiber sound reduction material that was originally installed by the vehicle manufacturer. Easy to install if you make a paper or cardboard template first, then cut the material to match the template, then apply it to the material. Suggest you make a practice run before you peel off the back adhesive protection sheet. You only get one chance to stick this to the surface where you want it, can’t pull it off and reapply.

The preparation
If you try to replace your car hood liner with this, plan it out. It can turn out well. I did it myself, and, rushed it a bit I think. The product is very sticky when the backing is off it. Just enough for one try, get it measured correctly, and try to have another person to help with placement, who knows the game plan of exactly the points to start attaching it. I used the old as a template. Then plotted which side to start with. Be sure to stretch it out(without tearing it) before you measure it. There may be gaps, valleys, grooves, you didnt expect. Mine is on, to an ok degree. I could make it look better. And probably will soon. Shoring it up.

It’s easy to cut, it sticks very well, easy to apply in general. I used it to insolate the roller shutter boxes against noise and cold
