Level 1 Done Right. Faster, Smarter, and Reliable
I’ve been using the Lectron Level 1 J1772 Charger (WiFi Version) for a little over a month with my IONIQ 5, and I can confidently say this is a solid upgrade over a standard 12-amp Level 1 charger. What I Like1. Very Easy Setup & App IntegrationSetup was simple plug in, connect to WiFi, and that’s it. The app is actually useful (not just a gimmick). It:• Notifies you when charging starts• Alerts you if charging stops for any reason• Tracks daily, monthly, and yearly usage• Lets you schedule charging times directlyBeing able to monitor usage over time is something I didn’t realize I’d appreciate this much.2. Noticeably Faster Than 12 Amp ChargersThis unit goes up to 15 amps. My original charger was limited to 12 amps.On paper, that’s roughly 1.7 kW vs about 1.2 kW. Doesn’t sound huge but in real use, it absolutely adds up.Charging from 20% to 80%:• Old charger: ~40 hours• This one: ~30 hoursThat’s about 10 hours faster, which is a big difference.Even in winter (when charging naturally takes longer), the time savings are still there.3. Perfect for Short CommutesI drive around 30-35 miles per day. Plugging in for 10–12 hours overnight gives me roughly 40 miles of range back. For someone who doesn’t need Level 2 at home, this works great.Just remember: this is still Level 1 charging. It’s not fast charging but within the Level 1 category, this performs very well.4. Build Quality• Cable feels thicker and more durable than my OEM charger• Materials feel solid• Stays cool during long charging sessions (never even warm for me)• Has never stopped charging unexpectedlyReliability so far has been excellent.Minor Things to Consider• Cable is 16 ft, which is good but I personally would’ve preferred 20 ft for a little more flexibility. That’s really my only complaint.Bottom LineIf you want:• A smarter Level 1 charger compatible with any J1772 vehicle• Faster charging than a basic 12-amp unit• App monitoring and scheduling• Solid build quality• Good value for the priceThis is a great option.I’m very happy with it so far and would definitely recommend it for anyone with a short daily commute who wants a better Level 1 solution without installing Level 2.

Great charger
Working well so far! I’ve had it one month and top off my Niro EV every 2-3 days. Bought this model for the Wi-Fi capability so I can keep track of usage. Once I set my phone hotspot as the Wi-Fi network on the app, I haven’t had to re-select the network. The charger needs to be plugged in to use the app.The Lectron app is so-so. It only keeps a written record for a few days. You can go to “record” then select “usage” and select the graph points to see charge totals for each day. It also allows you to adjust the input voltage.I live in an old house and plug into a dedicated exterior 15A outlet. I set the charger to 12A output so there’s no problems. App reads 1.38Amp hours while charging. 8 hours equals about 11.5 Amp hours. My car gets 4 miles per Ah this time of year, so 46 miles range per 8 hour charge. [The non-Wi-Fi model does not have the capability of charging at a lower amperage or setting schedules, but you can adjust charging input on most cars through their settings.] You can also set up charging schedules on the Wi-Fi model which is handy for charging overnight or charging when your electric rates are lower.Lectron has a nice product here. Grade: Solid A

Just what I needed
Just what I was looking for in a level 1 charger for my home. Love the app. No issues. The cord is long and sturdy. It works well with my garage. Can’t wait to get the level 2 charger from Lectron. The functions in the app are user friendly.

Works flawlessly, and easily compatible
Worked well when I needed in a pinch!! Definitely NOT fast, and I didn’t expect it to be. I have a 50 amp for faster charging but when staying g at my Dad’s, i didn’t have that luxury. This was a great product that fit my needs and worked well. The phone app was well supported, and worked consistently. Now….. if I had only kept my EV. Time to sell it on Facebook.

Just what I needed
This charger does exactly what I need it to do. While the charge time will never equate to a level 2 charger, it is perfect for those that just need to top off overnight for a daily commute. The included graphs on the app are a great touch. Works perfectly with my 2023 Solterra.

Excellent product for home recharging!
This was a great solution for my EV charging needs! I was getting ready to have an electrician rewire my garage for a 240 VAC charging plug, but decided to try this instead and it worked! Now, I have a short commute (16 miles or so daily), so I can use this cord to charge my car at for a few hours after work. If you drive your EV on a longer daily commute this might not work for you because it does take a really looooonnnngggg time to recharge. In that case I would recommend a 240 VAC charging outlet, but for just topping off at the end of the day or over the weekend? This charging adapter is great!

Great lvl 1 charger!
Love this level 1 charger! Perfect for charging at home or if you’re on a road trip and staying at an AirBnB. Takes 13 hours to charge my Mach-E GT 21%. I really like the ability to control and monitor usage through the app too. Overall, a really good value for your money

Works, but issues with scheduled charging
Overall, it works as as L1 charger. However, I set my car to charge on a schedule to take advantage of lower energy costs overnight, and on multiple occasions, I’ve woken up to discover that although the car correctly attempted to go into charging mode at the appropriate time, the charging cable didn’t. The cable was set to “plug and charge” mode, which means that as long as it’s connected to the car and to the outlet, it should just charge, but I had to go into the app and manually tell it to “start charging.”I got the WiFi version over the non-“smart” version because it gives the option in the app to switch between 8, 12 and 15 amp. Since I’m on a 15 amp circuit, and for now connected through 12 ga extension cord, I need to constrain the cable to charging at 12 amps to avoid circuit overload or cable overheat, and it does well at that. It also gives me how much power I’ve used, which is potentially useful information.

Arrived quickly. Works as advertised and very well. I’m using with a 2024 Hyundai Tuscon PHEV and worked fine and faster out of the box than the OEM charger that had an unfortunate run in with a snow-blower. And the app is nice as you see the charging status and parameter. Recommend highly.

The charger & app are great – met my expectations!

Bought it mainly for the fact that you can checks the charging stats of your car from the app and the fact that you can control the current that you car is charging at. So for example if you wanted to used another appliance while charging the car you could limit the current your car is charging at so the breaker wouldn’t fail.

It is manufactured very well. Its cables looked very strong. I charged my equinox EV one night, the charge was very cool when I touch it. Its WIFI worked very well. For me level 1 is good enough to charge my EV car.
