Good design, well made, but….
This is a really good phone mount. It grips the air vent well, and it is very easy to get your phone in and out of it. You put your phone into the mount, squeeze the two sides which tighten like a ratchet until it is tight. To release the grip, you just press a button, and the two sides fly open to easily remove your phone.It has a good design and is made with quality construction. The phone holder part of the mount connects to the air vent mount with a ball joint, so it is easy to adjust the viewing angle. Once positioned and tightened, the phone angle does not change. My phone is fairly thick, about 0.7″, as I have a fold open wallet case, and it still fits fine in this mount. However, you must look at where you will put this mount, as it hangs down about 2.5″ from the air vent mounting point, and it may cover your car’s touch screen or other commonly used controls. This is a problem with my little two seater. It either covers part of my touch screen, or it hangs over my headlight control switch. I get by with it covering my headlight switch because I always leave my headlights on day or night. So, make sure you have a good place to put this thing, and if you do, buy it, as it is a quality product.

Looks nice and is easy to install, but…
This is one of the consumer products that comes highly recommended on the CNN website for its value and functionality for everyday life. I’ve usually found that to be hit-or-miss, and this product comes in the “miss” category.There are several issues I have with this product, some finer details not mentioned in the CNN review. First, it doesn’t take into account that people have a phone ring holder on the back. This prevents the phone from being flush against the back for a secure grip. Also, most people use a protective outer case. This also adds bulk and weight, not only preventing the phone from being clamped in place, but also causes the phone to sag downwards with a poor downward viewing angle. This is extremely self-defeating for using the phone as a GPS device, which is one of the most important aspects for products like these. In my brief use, just trying to make any adjustment caused the clamps to come out of the air vent, or the phone simply popped out of the holder, despite tightening it as much as I could under the limitations of having the ring holder and protective case.I rarely return products to Amazon, unless it’s defective or simply does not work up to its promises. I will probably go after something more premium priced but also one I can just put up on the dashboard instead.

Good Stuff!
I’ve had this in my car for years now! Good purchase! It clips right on to your air vent. The only downside is that sometimes my phone overheats in the wintertime with it being in the direct path of all the hot air.

Very sturdy. It clamps and releases the phone quickly and securely holds the phone in place. My only option was for a vent mount phone holder and this mount worked perfectly. The twist lock vent clip is much better than spring loaded clips and securely holds the mount in place in all driving conditions.

So happy with this item, I had one which stuck to window previously but it constantly slide down in the heat, this one holds the phone firmly and stays still, I put it in the side vent rather than the central one and it’s great, not blocking my view, but where I can see it easily, the bits that hold on the vent feel strong and reliable, feeling confident of this product, so far it has seen me to the end of all journeys it hasn’t dropped it once, happy!
