    We’ll build/old style fog lights
Old school lights for my old truck, glass lens and metal bracket just what I wanted, Amber lens lights up the corners especially in foggy conditions. I had another set for 30 years until bozo decided to back into them, they are definitely rugged.

    Great value under $100
Perfect addition to my MJ project. Comes with everything you need including wire and relay. I opted to use my own 14Ga wire but could have used what came with the kit. Fitment is just doable on Jeep XJ & MJ with 84-96 grilles, they do just touch when adjusted for height/ tilt. I positioned mine on the outer holes but they would fit just as well in the inner position. I’d do Hella again when I get around to lights on the headache rack/ bar.

Yellow flat beams perfect in fog if aimed low.
These are excellent in dense fog if aimed correctly. Aim them so the top of the beam shines on the road about 50 feet in front of your car. In fog so dense your car’s low beams are useless, these yellow beams will penetrate the fog so you can see the sides of the road, even on snow covered rural roads in very dense fog. Don’t aim them to high or you’ll just blast light into the fog further blinding yourself and any oncoming traffic. Get the yellow ones for fog. White and blue just reflect and blind you.

    No quality present.
Hella was once a well respected name in racing equipment and quality. They should be embarrassed to put their name on these lights. While the glass is decent, the plastic housing is the worst Ive ever seen. They are made in India and are reminiscent of early China manufacturing quality. In other words , there is none. Definitely regret purchasing.

    Look great!
I got these more for cosmetics but they also work very well and are relatively easy to install. The amber color isn’t super bright but it blends well with the low beams.

    Excellent lights, instructions are weak
These are classic fog lights, with incandescent bulbs that would be easy to replace in the future. They required me to make a custom mounting bar and to buy a license plate bracket, since they went on a carwith plastic bumper covers. They perform as well as I had expected, and make a huge difference in heavy fog conditions. The instructions are as minimal as they could get away with, and require more effort to decipher than should benecessary. Clearly, the company does not care about ease of installation. A teen putting them on his first car would have a lot of headaches figuring out the wiring. There are no explanations or helpful suggestions, such as using zip ties to tidy up the wiring, how to install the switch, how to run the wires through the firewall, or where to tap into the vehicle’s lighting wire.Others have commented on how the body is plastic. This will affect long-term durability, without a doubt. They can be opened to replace the bulb, though.

    Excellent quality lights
These are very nice lights. They throw a very wide beam that shines over to the sides of the road and ditches well. These are not long range lights, I find that they shine about as far as my headlight beams. I also bought hella headlight housings that allow you to change the bulb instead of the entire housing.I have wanted to take out the reverse facing reflector on these lights to gain more output but that would make them very bright for oncoming traffic so I’ll probably leave them as is for now.

Good price delivered quickly, made in India but if not India proberly would be made in China so the quality is what you’d expect.

Great little lights if you’re trying to go for the rectangle halogen look. Covers fit great and work well (just remember to put them on!). The halogen lights aren’t super effective/efficient with the stock Halogen bulbs, but are easy to replace with LEDs while maintaining a comparable beam.

  12. Oldfords

They look good and function well, although the backlight on the switch does not work. The build quality of the plastic housings are not as strong and rigid compared to the 500s I bought a couple years ago which were manufactured in Germany.Product says these were manufactured in India but it seems Hella has been manufacturing there for a long while.
