    Works Great; Highly Recommended!
I have bought several FM receivers over the years in an attempt to go “hands-free” in my 2004 car. Previous products that cost $30-50 performed so poorly that I gave up on them within a short period of time. Unlike the others, my husband and my secretary said that they can’t tell that my calls are on speakerphone because they hear my voice the same as if I were just calling with the phone. The sound on other products tended to fade a lot during calls, but that hasn’t been a problem with this receiver. I love that it has a fast-charging USB so that I don’t have to choose whether to use the cigarette lighter to make calls or charge the phone. I’ve been streaming music from Spotify and it sounds great. In fact, it sounds better than my radio. I’ve also been using Waze for GPS and it’s been working well. Basically, this receiver can be used to play any sounds from your phone over your car’s audio system. I also like this model’s “on-off” button so it doesn’t drain the battery when the car isn’t running.Due to the poor results I’ve had with other sellers’ products, I didn’t have high expectations for this receiver but figured that its low price and Amazon’s return policies made it worth trying. I’m so happy with it that I’m going to order one for my husband’s vehicle. He has a built-in Bluetooth system, but he’s been having a lot of problems with it lately. Even when it was working properly, he didn’t have the ability to stream audiobooks or music through his system without using a cord plugged into the auxiliary port. At this price, I think it will be more cost-effective to order one of these receivers for him than to try to get his current system repaired. I highly recommend this receiver to anyone who wants to make “hands-free” calls, stream music or audiobooks, or use GPS apps like Waze or Google Maps.

    Wonderful functional device for Music
Maybe a niche reason. I have a Zune HD from 2009 that works perfectly and I wanted to actually listen to my music that I love and this little device has made my teenage dreams come true. It’s amazing and super clear once you figure out the correct frequency. I used it with the 3.5 m to m cable that it comes with since my device does not have Bluetooth. Thank you for making this. I never thought I’d be able to use my Zune in my car.

Functionally works perfectly. Sound quality/stereo channels leave something to be desired.
Turning an old car (2000) into a Bluetooth capable music/phone machine by using just its FM stereo and cigarette lighter is a great concept and, pretty much, it works as expected. My car has an exceptionally strong FM antenna and I think this actually reduces the quality of signal that I receive because my antenna is probably picking up enough of a weak signal on every tuner station that there is always some interference. Other than the occasional interference noise, the functionality and sound is very good. Operation is very easy with a simple push of the button to turn it on, fast synching with my phone, and easy playback/track/channel changes. The only reason I am lowering my review by one star is the lack of good stereo separation and dynamic sound. The sound is flat and some over the air FM broadcasts actually get better dynamic response. I’m sure I could tweak this with some EQ settings on my phone, so it’s not entirely a problem. But the fact that there is very little separation between the right and left channels makes it sound like a mono mix, even on songs that are hard panned. I don’t understand why this is the case since there should be two distinct signals – one for left channel and one for right channel. For someone who was looking for this to be the cure-all to prevent me from having to tear our the built-in dash and get a custom replacement with a single-din for a then-purchased new head unit, it’s not exactly the solution. But for now it will keep me going until I can’t take it anymore. At this point, I don’t know whether it’s worth investing in replacing any speakers in the car if my sound quality will be less than perfect. I’ve noticed that cassette tapes, with the Dolby reduction enabled, actually sound better than my high quality mp3s over this adapter. It’s a bit of a bummer, but it’s still much more than I had 48 hours ago before it came in the mail.

    Easy connect phone
It works as stated, I wanted the one with the radio in it. Guess I’ll plug an mp3 player into it. The USB ports are handy to charge the phone and or mp3 player.

  5. Shadow

    Great sound quality
This is a great device. The sound quality is clear, there is no issue with the volume (most of these fm transmitters have issues with getting loud enough). It connected to my phones Bluetooth perfectly and I do not have to reconnect it every time I get back in the car as it does so automatically. I’m really glad I bought this, it’s made my music experience so much better in my old 2005.

    Wonderful buy!
Love how easy to use this is ! Don’t have issues with connection and has great sound quality !

    No power button!
The Amazon customer reviews summary states that customers like that the unit has a power button. The picture on Amazon showed a power button (as pictured). Customer video reviews show them pressing the power button. The unit I received, a KM18 Plus, has no power button. The power button and ability to turn off the unit when inserted into an always on power port in a vehicle is the entire reason I purchased this model! Very frustrating. Why is it so hard to find a Bluetooth FM transmitter with a power button? Many older vehicles have always on power ports and leaving these devices inserted and on will drain the battery.

    Doesn’t turn off.
Works great but doesn’t turn off.

This device does exactly what it says it will do. I found it incredibly easy to set up and pair with my phone (sometimes that can be confusing or overly-complicated), and the instruction manual was helpful as well. I like that it has a longer bendy extension thing, since my car’s plugin thing are tucked in way under, so this gives me a little better access than one without long bendy things (I don’t know what to call it). I tuned to an unused FM station and the sound quality was great, no problems at all. The price is really decent too, considering it basically makes my mostly-non-bluetooth car into a car that has all the bluetooth features that I actually want (my car doesn’t even have an aux in port, which is super weird). Anyway, I definitely recommend this product.Oh! And I really like that it has a power off button. Other ones of these you have to remember to unplug it if you’re worried about the small drain on the battery, but with this it actually has a power button, which is handy.

This is a great product. It synched really easily and quickly via Bluetooth with my iPhone 6S. Sound quality is very good and far better than the old device from another manufacturer that it replaced. I haven’t tried the phone functions, but music is perfect. I have it in a 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara with no auxiliary audio input to the music system, so need a product like this. Build quality and design is very good and compact. It locks solidly into the 12V socket and stays there no matter how bouncy things get off road. I did look at some of the “newer” versions of the product, prompted by Amazon, but they looked overly complicated. The KM18, is simple, well built and does the job of getting music from my phone through to my car radio very, very well. I highly recommend it.

    Exactly as described!!

  12. Blake

Had a google pixel 4 and a car that doesn’t support Bluetooth audio. This was a cheap and effective work around. Clear audio and reliable. Every now and then there will patches where a radiostation is stronger than the punched in station (88.1 for me), but if the problem persists a simple channel change is effective.

  13. CP

Pros-Easy setup with multiple options: the device can play to the car stereo system using Bluetooth via FM or the AUX cable, which is supplied-Plus version of the device includes an ON/OFF switch to save unnecessary battery draining, especially when the car is idle-Screen is bright and provides great visibility even in daylight-Inclusion of a 5V-2.1A USB port allows your phone to be charged on-the-go-Voltmeter for car battery; slightly gimmicky, yet a nice inclusion-18 month warranty-Fantastically pricedCons-Song details are NOT displayed if connected via Bluetooth, yet the controls will work (details are only shown via microSD). See the last photo where there is a triangle symbol in the top left corner denoting that music is being played but the song details are not shown.-Manual says microSD cards up to 32GB are supported and only plays MP3, WMA and WMV formats. This may be a deal breaker for users with huge libraries of FLAC files. Personally have not tested whether this is true.-Whilst the connector is flexible, it is not collapsible or extendable. It may stick out like a sore thumb for users who have an awkwardly placed cigarette lighter.Quick tips-This device MUST be plugged into the cigarette lighter to turn on (this is the battery source). Next, on your car radio/FM, select a channel between 87.5 and 108.0. Then, on the KM18, press CH+ or CH- so that the selected channel on the KM18 matches that of the car FM. Only then will there be sound coming out from the car speakers (e.g. 87.5 on car FM, 87.5 on KM18 too).-If you find there is some background/static noise, especially with higher volumes, use the supplied AUX cable and connect it to the car’s existing AUX port, should your car have one. Using this method, you will be playing music from your phone via Bluetooth to KM18, which in turn plays the music through the car speakers via AUX output. The benefit of this is 1) your phone is freed from cords, 2) you may use the buttons on the KM18 to control your music and 3) static noise may be reduced. I currently use this option since my cigarette lighter is conveniently located next to the AUX port.
