Very impressive performing light for the price point, in all aspects
Extremely well made and brightThis ones very good, the stepless infinite brightness knob is a very welcomed addition as is the abilities for Flood, Spot or all 3 lights at once. You also have the option for red lighting to preserve your night Vision and also aid in tracking animalsmas well as Red strobe mode that blinks in morse code of S.O.S , universal sign for I need help.Very thankfully they did NOT offer and blue and red strobes like most competitors tend to do, as those are illegal to use in most major cities. The build quality… build like a tank without the weight of one with a very thick abs and aluminum shell is very much up to any task. IPX 7 waterproofing and dust resistant wit a ver generous amount of shock and drop resistance wuth a shatter proof objective lense. The head band, extremely comfortable, very easy to adjust and sized to fit the smallest upto even the largest of heads or hard hats. The nice silicone lining is nice and grippy on the forehead and prevents slippage during running , jumping or adjustments of the light angle. The leds man how the heck are those, Extremely bright, the 6500k Spot goes about 300 yards and the 6000k floods do around 100 with a very even inclusion free beam pattern the lenses and reflectors on both are very nicely done with zero spill past their intended beam profile and extremely even throughout.Battery life…. it’s great, you can run on high for 2hours or turbo for 1 but you won’t be needng that much for majority of your task and for those majority of tasks low to medium runs 3hr 45min upto 110hrs depending on brightness setting which is VERY good for such a compact unit with limited battery space.Speaking of batteries you get TWO 1200mah lithium battery packs and usb C charger ports built into them.. lost your usb C charge cable or maybe forgot it? No problem these can run on AAA batteries! That adds phenomenal versatility to this light, the option to swap instantly from proprietary batteries for traditional easily available standard cells.Overall, for the price would I recommend this? Yes..abbbsolutey worth every dime, I have fenix and I have olight headband lights and those are little more than a pocket light mounted to a headband where as this nextorch is designed as a headband from the start along with its very intuitive adjustments. Some bonus points go to nextorch having an impressive 10 year warranty, and YES from experience they actually fully support you for those 10 years.

Getting close to the perfect headlamp
I own quite a few flashlights and more than enough headlamps to last me multiple lifetimes. That does not stop me from always trying to find the next best thing. I’m not going to say this headlamp is perfect but it is one of the best I’ve come across so far. It really stands out in its ease of use. So many lights these days complicated and AR user interfaces for accessing all of their functions. This light does not suffer from that. The controls are dead simple and well labeled. Moving between the different modes like flood light or spotlight red light is quick and easy and takes very little thought. All you need to do is rotate the bezel on the front of the lamp to the setting you need. It could even be easily used while wearing gloves which is a big bonus. Once you select the you can easily select the brightness with the knob on the side. The brightness knob is also easy to find and easy to use. It is the most intuitive set I’ve seen in a long time on a more premium light. It is also one of lighter weight headlamps in my Arsenal. There is the slight negative in that it uses a proprietary battery pack but that is made up for by the inclusion of a second pack with the lamp. So you can always have a full battery charged up and ready to go in a pinch if you need it. Normally I would stick to 18650 or 21700 style lamps but the trade offs here I think are worth it. The only other minor minor complaint I could come up with is that the red lamp on this leans towards the yellow or orange side of the spectrum. My favorite light for preserving night vision has a 660nm LED in it. I’ve included a picture comparing the difference between my 660nm and the Nextorch’s ‘red’. I know it’s hard to tell in a photo like this but I did lock the white balance to show that the Nextorch does lean a little more yellow than a known wavelength. In reality image on the is much more yellow in person with the human eye. I know it’s a minor gripe but it is valid to me.I have often complained about some of the ergonomics of Nextorch lights in the past but this is a welcome departure those other tactical lights.
