it’s a HUD(Head-UP-Display), 5.8” big screen, with driving speed MPH or KM/H and speed alarm, to avoid speeding ticket. The normal HUD only works on the cars after 2008, but this new hud is built in all OBD2 protocol include J1850/CAN/ EOBD protocols. Therefore, it can works on more cars on the market after 1996. (VJOYCAR V70-1997 VS others-2008!!!) That’s why many clients feedback that it’s the only HUD which can work on the cars of 1999.
It can work as OBD2 gauge , scanner and diagnostic tools, display vehicles speed(VSS), RPM, odometer, load value, coolant temperature, intake air temperature, absolute throttle position, voltage, fuel consumption, EGR error, fuel level, oil temperature…display all 96 engine data scream, read codes, and clear codes. However, pls note, the final display data will be different from car to car because of the protocol Compatibility and Openness. For some old car in 1997, 1999, it may only display speed and other a few pieces of data.
It’s a smart onboard computer, display and monitor engine data, active the alarm to alert drivers: over speed alarm, RPM alarm, ECT alarm and voltage alarm…it can also display 0-1000KM speed up time. Alarm can be off, bright can be adjusted, screen is 180° change, two install methods – standalone on dash board, upside down on the car windshield.

Latest Software
1. Question: Will not power down just reboot over and over and over(Whenever I turn my truck off the device stays on and goes through scanning system and then restarts the five second countdown I have to unplug it for it to shut off)
Answer: When device work on pick-up, it may not be off automatically when ACC is off, pls try to adjust the voltage from 12.50 to 14.00, then it can work very well.
2. Question: How to change the corner”RPM” to MPH?
Answer: Press up or down button until you see the center value is flashing, long press OK button, then switch between VSS and RPM.VSS is driving speed, default is KM/H. Long press ESC button, go to unit, can switch speed between Metric((=KM/H) and English(MPH).

3. Question: The screen flickers, What can i do?

4. Question: Does not show all available data. Wanted this to display oil pressure and there is not a PID for it.
Answer: This device has function of “Fuel Rail Pressure”, however, for many cars on the current market, this data is not open. Once you check the data stream, and can’t find it, then it means your car doesn’t display this function.
5. Question: Does the device has fuel temperature?
Answer: Yes, its name is “Engine Oil Temperature” on the data stream.

Great OBD Hud
The screen is completely accurate, RPM, TEMP, SPEED, all read perfectly on my 98 Camry. I purchased this unit to keep an eye on my voltage and temps, but the other gauges are a welcome addition, and are easy to select and use. The size of the screen is good also, since there isn’t much extra dash space in a Camry, I stuck the screen right over my OEM tach on my dash, still able to see all of the other dash items.Make sure to update the screen’s software, its super easy, go to the joycarchina site and select downloads and find the V70 installer, bypass the User control settings if you are WIN10, and install the tool. Plug in the screen to your PC, while holding OK, and boom, you’re now updating!!!Again, can’t be happier with this, and would certainly recommend this to anyone running OBD II and some light mods to their car like me and OEM stock car owners too.

One of very few devices that works with cars older than 2007.
I will be adding to and updating this review as I use it.There’s a few bugs, but they did make the unit update-able.Their customer service has been fantastic.Seems well made, with screws.Currently testing it on a 2009 Subaru Outback, it automatically detected the right car, and it’s working well so far!The big center gauge is ONLY able to be set to be the speedometer, or RPM gauge.So far it seems like the big center gauge still says “km/h” when it’s see to MPH. UPDATE 6/11/21 — they released a software update that fixed this! Screen flickering out in center with black square was also fixed!The four smaller gauges can be set to monitor any of the data your car’s computer tracks.And, the smaller gauges say MPH when set to English.6/11/21 — One of very few devices that works with cars older than 2007.6/11/21 — WORKS with 98-02 Firebirds & Camaros!6/11/21 — Support has been great when I write to them here on Amazon, and also by email.More to come!

Killed my truck on plug In
Do not use. As soon as I plugged it in it killed my truck. Wrench light was set. Will have to make sure all the modules are good by a mechanic to see if any permanent damage. 17 f150

Works Great! (ON EDIT: I DON”T USE IT NOW)
UPDATE: Having to tape over the extraneous blue/yellow lighting was becoming annoying. Then (after 5 months), the engine temp stopped displaying just when I needed it most. So, I have now replaced it with an AUTOOL X50 PLUS which works better for what I needed, but it’s only been 2 weeks). Dropped a star because it quit working, although I didn’t try to get it working again after that.After a month, the VJOYCAR V70 OBD2 Gauge is working great. My notes:- It took a couple of tries for the scanning to find my (2004, so older?) OBDII communication protocol. I might have had key-on but not running the first try, so if you don’t see more than “voltage” displayed, try disconnecting from the OBDII port and start the engine, or visa versa.- As with my 14 year old Scangauge this is replacing, the displayed voltage seems low, at least when the engine isn’t running. After the connection problem (above) I came to realize it displays the voltage coming through the OBDII port and not what the ECM sees and maybe could reported through a PID (I don’t know). It’s not a problem, just something to know.- What I really needed was to see the engine temperature (GM Duramax Diesel LLY and the dash display is very inaccurate). It got to where I couldn’t read the old fading LCD display on my Scangauge. The V70 display is GREAT! Very bright. Better yet, it has a light sensor so it dims somewhat at night. Better yet, it lets me use 2 of the display corners for temp so I see it at a glance even if one has reflective glare (or, duh, I look at the wrong one).- I took 1 star off because it has extraneous blue and yellow lighting. I just want to see the numbers. For now, I put black electrical tape to blot out everything except the 5 white numeric displays (which I find very easy to read). Ok, this makes it so you can’t use the menu or code reading/reset features, but I can easily take off the tape for that. I may make a nicer cover some day. Or how about adding configuration features to turn on/off stuff?- I also really like the tilt mount so you can adjust it up/down if needed to eliminate a glare.

Very good for the price.
Unless you want to spend $150+ on a scangauge this is definitely your next best bet. It’s made of fairly cheap plastic but still seems ok.The UI is reminiscent of the mid 00s knock off iPod touch mp3 players (you know exactly what I mean) but it’s snappy to respond and live data streaming is much better than I expected.The menu and setting options is pretty easy. took a couple mins to set up to my needs, make sure you set the correct turn on/turn off voltages so it doesn’t stay on with the car off.all in all very happy.

Easy to install
This is a very easy to install item and it is easy to read. Changing from MPH to KPH is very straight forward. The display is clear and easy to understand. The instructions are very simple, but they do not go into much detail about operation of the unit. It would also be good if the online instructions were better.All in all, I would give a 5 is the documentation was better.After using the unit!!! *** UPDATE ***Had some time with this and I am really impressed. Had great communications with the vendor and did a software upgrade. Once completed, I have been able to change all of the views to functions that are important to me. The display is very clear and easy to read. The ability to change the items displays is limited only to the huge amount of data this device reads from your car. I am changing from 4 to 5 stars based on my expireience with the unit and support!

Works with older vehicles like my 2000 montero
So far so good, working as it should and it is the only one i found that works on my 2000 montero vs others that accept 2008+ only. Main reason purchased is to monitor temp and working great so far.

I required a Temperature sensor with auditable Alarm for typical mid engine modern car without a gauge. This worked out about the same, in cost, as a traditional gauge, pod, sender and fitting accessories. So I chose this device.The auditablemax Temperature alarm is set easily enough, and can also be set for max RPM. The auditable beep is loud enough when triggered.The display is good, and can be flipped to allow upside down for mounting purposes ( although if you do this, the logo is then upside down – it may bother you to see that)My main annoyance is that it takes quite a while to display speed, as it only takes signal from GPS. So if your looking for a replacement speedo, this might not suit.
